That's awful! Start applying for other jobs within that pay more, no matter how ridiculous it looks. Then if someone from HR or management comes to you and asks what you're doing tell them exactly what you said in your first sentence. Anyone with any common sense would understand your position. Say you don't feel appreciated. The question of whether you can move up in the company, big one, perhaps your position is replaceable and they don't feel your position should get more than that. Move up or to another department where you job role is more valuable. Sorry for being so blunt, just trying to understand they reason why. Good luck!

I suggest you look for a place to work elsewhere. The average business is highly encouraged to give their employees at least a yearly raise to help them keep up with the regular cost of livings regular increases. Some one who has been working there as long as you have should've also had a promotion at least once in that time after about four years unless you live in a small community. There is no growth there, start collecting recommendations and references so when you look for your new job they'll know your worth more then 12$prhr.

You should leave. If you don't value yourself, they won't either. It may even be illegal not to provide yearly performance evaluations. You can find another job. Did you know if you work at Starbucks you get paid 10.00 an hour and get great benefits if you work just over part time? Not that you should work there, but it illustrates that life is full of choices and opportunities. It's change that is scary! Go for it, stand up for yourself. You can do better. (I do however recommend finding a new job before giving notice at your current job. It's always easier to find work when you have a job than to look for work and say you are currently unemployed!)

It looks like you have very little upward mobility here. After over seven years you should have at least received a cost of living raise. It seems to me that the only possibility of more money with this company is a promotion. Try applying for some better paying openings with your company- that is, if you are really bent on staying with them. Your other option, of course, is to look for another job outside of your company.

If you have never received ANY cost of living (or inflation) raise, then I think you have a case to take them to court.
