I misquoted rates to a client and the deal is really going to cost like 2000 more than I quoted. I realized my mistake as I was trying to close the deal...The client says they like me and they want to work with me? Do you think I may still get sale anyway??

I had posted my resume on Monster and Workopolis last year, and two days ago I received calls from two job placement agencies, telling me that they have a position that may be of interested to me as it has a close match, and that I should send them my updated resume. Me, being hesitant about this since I have never dealt with job agencies before, asked them for a detailed job description to see if I am interested in it. They told me that they can release the job description until I submit my resume. Naiively enough, I went ahead and submitted my resume. One of them almost instantly emailed me back saying that she carefully looked thorugh my resume, and currently she does not have any positions for my skillset.

Anyone know what is going on? Anyone have any experience with Job Agencies? Is there anything I should be aware of? Is this a scam?

The job agencies were National Executives and ATS Reliance.

Im a high school student and i just started working at the local drug store last month. I have this co-worker that is hard to work with. She is asked to do something by the managment but she never gets it done, or takes alot of breaks in between tasks. I cant complain to managment, because most of the time she back their talking to them instead of working. Im getting tired of having to pick up her slack. Whenever im working with her i have to prepare myself to do double the work while collecting minimum wage, and at the same time listen to her ramble on about her love life.... its reall irratating. I dont know what to do because my manager is her friend and i dont want to sound like a jerk by complaining. Not to mention this girl is a promotion to manager, so i'll have to deal with her more soon.

I'm a black Teacher and I've been very, very nice to the other Teachers--mostly white women. I've volunteered to help them on projects and always greet them with a smile. But I recently found out that many of those white women were going behind my back and reporting every mistake I made-- and even lied to the Principal about me--which landed me in trouble (all the white these same women made 100 times more mistakes than me).

Its shocking because these same women smiled in my face and pretended to be my friend --but were stabbing me in the back !! They give off this nice image to the world--but they act like devils behind closed doors...

So, I just wonder: Is it a part of white culture to be very fake on the job--while stabbing people in the back? I think this is a common problem on many job sites.

We have really bad problems with the behaviour of eastern european people at my work. They scream, stomp, swear, are aggressive.....to just about everyone. We don't have problems with other people just them. Why is this? Any suggestions for controlling them?
