To be completely prepared for the shift exactly what supplies does a bartender want to bring to the bar? So far the list is a towel, and a cutting knife. Tip jar is optional because not all bars allow or operate with tip jars out. And a vermouth sprayer is optional also. Some bars also have shakers availible but some do not.

Hopefully I'm all set for A grades in English Literature, Maths and Chemistry at A Level (high school exams). I have quite a literary side and IQ tests have shown me to have average abilities with numbers and shapes and an above average way with words. But I like Chemistry too! I'm quiet and do not like the idea of huge workloads and crazy hours. I do good, but not very good in maths, and excessive numbers make my head spin. I like the idea of helping people, leading a stress-free life and having a career that allows for flexibility. Also, I read that "pharmacy is medicine without the hassle." Of course, earning a decent sum of money is important too. Relatives tell me science is a dead end - too much work, too little money. Apparently studying economics will allow my to use my language skills well and will give me a lavish lifestyle. Is it true? I'm confused; which is it to be?

there are 6 of us, all females. there is a new girl, young and from a different country and for some reason, maybe because she's new? they dote on her, leaving me and another coworker to do most of the work. the "new girl", makes private phone calls, brouses online and ignores customers while the managers in charge seem to think it's cute and even help her file her work, etc!
she takes extra time at lunch and blames her mistakes on me and my coworker.
a few times, when i've tried to gently "correct" her..or told her what work needs to be done, she will ignore me - or worse, the office manager comes over to protect her and orders me to do some kind of job.
i am at a loss of what to do, aside from quitting. i really need this job, as a single mom but will find another job before giving notice if that's the only answer.
if anyone has a different answer or insight into this i would appreciate it!

A friend of mine was terminated suddenly. He coordinates with with sales vendors and he travels often to work the trade shows for his company. He has worked there for about 7 or 8 years. Always goes the extra mile and has had excellent performance reviews. About 3 weeks ago was suddenly terminated. No reason was given at the time and since he has tried to contact his general manager with no success. Still no reason has been given to him regarding this sudden termanition. What are the laws regarding this type of termination?

I just graduated college and I am engaged. I am split between two different career paths. One is something I love but doesn't guarantee good money, it also is more accommodating to being a mother in the long run. The other job is more intense, pays good, and probably not as accommodating to raising children. My fiance has an average paying job. I know this is a decision only I can make, but I just want some different opinions.

At this time I feel really lost. I'm in my senior year of college and I'm double majoring in English and Spanish. The thing is, I'm starting to fail everything and I work too many hours to keep up. I don't even enjoy either subject anymore. I had to drop down to part time because I went over my absences in my early morning classes because I close a lot at work. I have to work 40 hours a week to pay for school, rent, etc. My parents cannot afford to help me out at all, so I'm struggling on my own to make things work.

I just need something to work toward...what should I do with my life? What should I be?

This position is actually some ive been doing 4 years and plan on staying that way it just offered more money...I still havent received a courtesy call from the company either this bumms out........WHy did this happen???

I am applying for a job on the field which I studied in college and I have no references to put on my resume. I worked on the family business right after graduating and it is a totally different field from what I took up in college. I worked with my sister on the family business. Is it okay to put family members as your references? Plus, I have no other previous jobs other than the family business.

Several people have done this job before, all with degrees, all got paid well for doing this job. Also, I have to factor in the cost of living increases over time. Could this be construed as discrimination?

I have bipolar disorder. I am 46 and female. I see my Dr. on a regular basis and take my medications. I need a job filing or doing paperwork or answering the phone where I can work mostly alone. I used to be an excellent LPN. I won every award in my graduating class in 1991. I went through a bad spot in 1997 and didn't renew my LPN licence. I have tried going back to college but can't keep up with the pressures of college. I am not and never have been stupid. I am very smart and learn fast. I just need someone in the area of Dalton, Ga. (up to 30 miles away) to give me a chance. I am on disability right now and would love to get off of government assistance and have a full time job (maybe starting out as part time and working into fulltime work) and gain back the confidence I once had.
