Several people have done this job before, all with degrees, all got paid well for doing this job. Also, I have to factor in the cost of living increases over time. Could this be construed as discrimination?

PS I am glad this is not me, but it very well could be because I have no degree either.

they do no longer seem to be doing precisely a similar interest, nor are they working interior a similar marketplace. EDIT: 'If male fashions are the underdogs, it rather is using fact the menswear marketplace is in a nascent degree. ; the adult men'S style marketplace is one factor the ladies'S style marketplace extremely yet another. they're thoroughly distinctive markets - they do no longer compete with eachother; in the event that they DID then they could be a similar marketplace. As we are able to work out, they do no longer seem to be. the adult men's style marketplace is actual dwarfed via each and every of the crap it rather is flogged to females, Male fashions experience shortchanged - there is way less artwork available and what there is on the marketplace is aggressive. various proper male fashions are not getting adequate artwork. This factoid is favourite international; it rather is a similar in each and every us of a. it rather is a grant and insist factor. The menswear marketplace is changing - metrosexual adult men are to thank - inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it is not something in any respect like the humungus ladieswear marketplace. What are YOU doing to help impoverished male fashions? what number Hugo Boss fits do you purchase each year? NONE??? nicely then, while you at the instant are not part of the answer then you're part of the subject. Get to it - keep until ultimately you DROP. it rather is for a stable reason, surprising??? "woman fashions delight in extra privileges using decision for-and-grant factor. Designers do no longer want to hire high priced male fashions as they're going to basically walk the ramp as quickly as for a instruct. proper woman fashions, on the different hand, could be used to the max via them". those are 2 distinctive markets, 2 distinctive industries.

No. You are not worth as much as someone with a degree. Yes, you have the sabe job title. But the people with degrees may have done the job faster, more efficiently, been able to supervise others, make client presentations, brought new and creative thinking to the company and overall, helped the company advance and grow as opposed to just "doing the job."

Having a degree isn't just about the piece of paper. It's about learning how to deal with people, learn from them, lead them, etc. It's life experience.

No way in hell. The people are more qualified and can justifiably be paid more than you. Who's to say they aren't doing a better job because of their education?

Discrimination is when you treat someone differently based on a group, race, religion, sex, etc. that they are a part of.

I no what you mean. But it is like this if you have the degree many will look at you if you have great knowlege. But if someone who does not have that back ground they no that they can hire someone else who can do the same job for way less money why not. I no that is not fair but , that is just the way it is. That is why so many bussiness hire the illegal person cause they no that they can pay cheap labor but most of those person work like hell. It is not fair but that is the way it is

No, it is a personal failure at negotiation.

If you thought you were worth what the degreed person was being paid, you should have asked for it.

You didn't, get over it and do a good job and appreciate the raise you receive at your next review.

Education is not a protected group, so impossible for it to be discrimination.

They should be paid more, it seems ridiculous not to compensate people for their education and what it brings to the work place.

no - education and certified skillsets are something that can legally be used to define levels of compensation. But, if they are treating you as a lesser person - well, that's discrimination and harrasment. - but the pay is legal

Nope, it's called life and sometimes life sucks. Remember when everyone said you should stay in school and get your degree? Now you know why.
