After 9 years of the same job, I am out looking again. The downfall is that I can't seem to get past the phone interview. I am the type of person that does much better face-to-face with someone. When I get the call I choke. I am very qualified for the position that I am seeking.

Basically, the owner of my small company hates me. He pulled me into his office and told me he's not impressed, I am incompetent, I have no follow through and he cannot trust anything I say. I can tell you I cannot stand my job, though I am professional and curteous and don't 'show' that I don't like it there. I was hired as an exec admin and am doing work as a receptionist. I know that he is the only one who feels this, as otherwise, why am I constantly given projects with tight deadlines to finish by everyone else? I have heard nothing but praise from everyone--except him. I know that he never wanted to hire me, he wanted to hire back my predecessor (a personal friend of his). I AM looking for a different job as I cannot stay there. But anything I say at this point he will construe as 'having attitude'. HELP!

I am going to begin pursing another job. I am currently at a job I HATE! I am a good worker and they would have no complaints about me. We recently got new management who is AWFUL!

With that in mind how do I word my cover letter and resume in a tactful way to explain why I am looking for a new job? I don't think I want to tell a future employer I hate my current boss!

Okay, I am not going to name my work, BUT, my manager told me that I have to get credit card applications, like 5 or more a month or he will cut my hours, then eventually terminate me. Now, I know that he can cut hours, but is it legal to fire someone because they don't make a certain credit quota, especially when it was NOT addressed when I was being interviewed for the job (Nov. 2006), or when I was in training.

Before you say, informed the supervisor keep in mind this person has been working at this particular hospital for two years. I can not believe she only falls asleep while working with me.

My co-worker sleeps every night on the job. We work the midnight shift! I often hear people complaining about working with lazy people but this is my worst encounter.

I have two jobs currently. The first is working Saturdays and Sundays as a commissioned sales associate for the Lands' End Shop at Sears. There, I make $6.00/hr base + 3% of any Lands' End merch I sell. On Sundays, I make $9.00/hr base + 3% comm.

The second job I work for is a Manufacturing plant, working a pretty nice desk job as a Transportation Analyst in the Logistics department. My bosses there are extremely nice, and my wage there is $12.50/hr. I work there September - Early May every Tuesday and Thursday, and during school breaks, and during the summer full time.

Lands' End recently decided to do away with commissioned sales, so now they are giving their employees an average of what they usually would make on comm. My rate there is now going to be $13.88/hr, and $20.82/hr on Sundays. The only question there will be how many hours I will be guaranteed.

I've been with the $12.50 job for almost a year now; how much of a raise should I ask for?

My daughter has been looking for a full time office job (using local paper, internet and job agencies) since before xmas and has no joy to date. Is is because the government is trying to encourage kids to further their education, and is that not unfair on those who have to (or even want to) go out to work, due to contribute to their household income.

I was considering becoming a military doctor in time, and the thought of serving in the armed forces is thrilling to me, but I've heard that often military doctors are just people trying to get through paid med. school and aren't top of the line. I am determined to be top of the line by the time I get to college, so do you think military is the way to go, or should I just become a normal civilian doctor?
