say that according to the job level, i will have to put more work into it, and you will get the same amount of money by doing easier work, so for your even more hard efforts you require more hard money... just say it friendly..

you are taking on more responsibiities and so this should be reflected in your pay. Look at other similar roles in your sector and the average pay for your kind of work, thats probably the best justification. Alternatively, accept the promotion, work there for 9 - 12 months and move on to another Assistant manager's role and get the pay you deserve.

More responsibility, more money. And you should make more $ than your subordinates. Also, you should come up w/ at least a few ideas on how to streamline or make the department you'll be managing (and whatever it is your company makes or does more efficient). Thereby saving the company u work for money. That's always a good impetus for proving to your bosses you're worth paying more $. Good Luck.

Accept the promotion. Just because it isnt much more money, you will have a higher job spec and you have more chance of getting more money than if you stay as you are. Your boss is not going to offer you more money or another promotion any time soon if you refuse this promotion.

Tell them to get stuffed. They obviously want you do to the job for the least amount of money. This is always a bad sign in a company. You will always be fighting for pay rises. Save yourself a lifetime of greif and find a decent company who respects your efforts!

Tell them you appreciate their offer and are pleased they can see your potential but you are not prepared to do extra work and have extra responsibility for the same amount of money.
Say the financial reward should reflect the level of responsibility you would have.

I would say that I am not about to take on extra responsibility for the same money as I find this to be extortionate and demotivating.

You should tell them that because this is a greater responsibility ( and more work involved ) that you should get a raise as well.
