why is it that whenever i see road maintenance workers on site, i.e. on motorways. Only 1 or 2 are working while the others seem to be lost, walking around, chatting and laughing, wolf whistling, BASICALLY doing 'EFF all'.....

One, they're lucky. Two, most of them r in a union, so it's practically impossible for them to b fired, and they know it. So they can basically do what ever they want, and if the project they're working on goes over budget their company just charges the State more money. Que sera sera.

To dig a hole it takes 1 man to dig, one man to smoke, one man to drink coffee, 1 man to read a paper etc etc

have you ever worked on a moterway with cars whizzing past at 90 miles per hour!!

the noise is horrendous . its allright slagging them off in the comfort of your cars . but trust me it's no bed of rose's!!
