I misquoted rates to a client and the deal is really going to cost like 2000 more than I quoted. I realized my mistake as I was trying to close the deal...The client says they like me and they want to work with me? Do you think I may still get sale anyway??

Depends if 2k is .5% of the total cost or 10% of the total cost. But if they said they still want to work with you, do something nice, like split the difference in your mis-quote for this one time only.

Unless you've already got a good standing/reputation with this client, my guess is that it's all about the money. Even if you misquoted by 2 grand you may still be the winning bid. All you can do is call them and tell them that you made a mistake, apologize and give them the new figures. Whether you made a mistake or not isn't the issue, money is.

Good luck.

If they want to work with you, tell them you'll split the difference, and see if they'll go for it. Its your mistake, and they can make you eat the whole thing if they want to.
