you can contact the IRS and get all of your old w-2 forms or 1099 s. They will have all of the dates

If you don't know it already, pretty much the only thing you can do is contact each company you did work at and get the dates and positions that you held. There is no centralized database that has that kind of information.

One other suggestion. If you were employed you must have received W-2's. Where are they? They should give you a good idea of where you worked and when.

If you don't already have this documentation (it should have been given to you when you terminated each employment) then simply go to your past employers and ask for it. They have to give it to you by law, at least in Canada and the US.
