I have an interview tomorrow and I am trying to prep myself, I always hate the question "what characteristics are your weakest"? I am just not sure of this question but I want to sound sincere and make myself look like a good canididate at the same time.

The wages do not reflect proper training. Some with more training, experience, education, AND seniority are getting way less than say new employees. It has turned into a major who's favorite get better wages. If I was to take bring it up with my boss's I'm sure I will be fired, which I cannot afford. I cannot find anywhere how to get wage and hour to come in.

I am trying to get a job. My former employers are claiming I never worked for them even with my entire name and SS#. 1 I had worked for them for nearly 4 1/2 years, the others for 3 to 4 months. My question is, how could they say I never worked for their company? Does after so many years they delete you?

i know this is a stupid question, but i'm going to a job interview on march 5, for a clothing store, and i'm positive that 2 questions they'll ask me are 1) Why do you want to work for our company? and 2) what makes you a good candidate?

i really need some advice on how to answer these, bcuz i've never had a job before in my life (i'm 17) and i'm already freakin out. i know for a fact that if i answer those questions the way i really want to (which is "honestly, i'm trying to transfer from a community college to a university next year and i just need any job to help me pay for it") they'll most certainly show me the door. so what can i do to sell myself to these people???? the store, by the way, is urban outfitters, so if anyone's ever worked there let me know what they look for!!!

I applied for a position in my place of work after being there six years as I knew that I could do the job, there was just myself and a 19 year old that applied for the job, the job involves working in the pub industry, I recieved a letter today saying I hadn't got the position and that the 19 year old had, there was no interview so I am a bit miffed that I had no interview and also having more experience does not count, so I would like to know if I can ask for the reasons in writing or do they not have to supply them. I am by no means angry at someone younger getting the job but it does make me angry that all my experience and hard work does not count.

I work for state government and am thinking of changing agencies, because I'm dissatisfied with my current job. I would have to go to interviews during the day, I'm sure, but I get off at 4:30 and come in at 8:30 making it pretty easy to slip one in before or after work or during a lunch break. The only problem is that my office is pretty casual in my building. People that work on the same project that I do work across the street in another building wear more business attire, but not in my building. I'd look out of place. Should I start dressing up a day or 2 a week so this is established as the norm. I actually tried to do this in the past just because it made me feel better about myself and more professional and I felt really out of place all day. I also don't know how my new boss (part of why I want to leave) would react. Most of the time I'm better dressed than him in a polo and khakis. There is a state career fair I'd like to go to at the end of the month.
