I've just graduated from college last year and have been working for about six months now but I have been extremely unhappy in it since last year. I was tempted to resign in December but my mom talked me out of it. If i was financially o.k I would have been gone like yesterday. However, I'm not financially stable but I really hate this job. It depresses me I have to motivate myself to go to work and am eternally grateful for any holiday I get. I sometimes wonder If I'm being childish and should just suck it up, not everybody likes their job but they still keep it, so why shouldn't I? But the fact is I am extremely depressed and miserable here. Give me your comments.

hi i am 20 yrs old
i am currently an architectural drafter for a contractor. I get paid well with full employer paid benefits and such. i only get paid once a month adn i think the job is boring as hell. and i hate the people i work with they are snobby and dont take me seriously. i just sit in my office all day and draw blueprints.
My parents own 2 pet stores and are planning to open another. They want me and my fiance to run it. I will make a little more money and i will get paid weekly. I used to run my parents firat pet store before i got this drafting job so i know what its all about. I do like the work and i like being able to talk with people and care for animals.

my dilemma is i am afriad to leave my stable job with good benefits. I am not certified but my boss wud pay for that. i think i will be much happier working at the petstore.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
should i leave my job to run a store or work in an office job all my life?
keep in mind im only 20 and very confused

My company has been going through some major reorganization over the last 6 months. They fired 1/2 of our staff as part of this. They came to me when they were letting people go and gave me a option of staying or going. I stayed because what else would I do on essentially no notice. I regret staying now because the partners that own the co. are making some bad business decisions. If I know of a decision that will affect my department in a negative way I speak up about it. They’ll listen to my opinions but they never use them. Now all of these could’a, would’a, should’a events are happening and I feel like things could’ve been different if they would’ve either taken my advice or at least thought things through a little more thoroughly before making quick decisions. Would you stay with a company that’s making a lot of bad business decisions because they seem to be only thinking about the here and now instead of the future?

Hi i'm 27 and I want to train to be a teacher but as I left school before I took my GCSE's due to a family illness I have no formal qualifications. I've worked since I was 16 in crappy minimum wage jobs and I honestly feel I have a hell of a lot more to offer. Can anyone make any suggestions?

It's a dangerous job. How can we make it safer?

I left work early (two hours) when all the work was done. I failed to check with my "supervisors" so I was sent home for three days. We have multiple people who come in late to work at least one day a week. They are from 15 minutes to an hour late every time. My boss refuses to do anything about the tardiness but sent me home for leaving early. We are a flat rate auto shop. So I only get paid if I'm working. I don't make any money if I don't have work. I asked my "Manager" what was the difference between coming in late or leaving early? he couldn't answer that. This has been going on for many years. I would like to leave but the pay is very good.

Have I been wronged or am I being a baby?

I am presently looking for work and have sent out A LOT of resumes. My wife insists that I do a follow up call for every one I submit. I say that they will call me if they are interested in my resume, and calling them would actually be a bother to them.

I'm fairly recent college grade a BA but my work experience is in admin work.... I'm looking for a "career change" (or start!) in a more rewarding field. Anyway, my plan is to participate in an internship that is part time or paid, which I know exists because I've applied to a number of them, but work at a place like Wal-mart or Target for supplemental income. Will places like those even consider my application? I'm not being snooty, but I wonder if they consider people with degrees and 5+ years of professional work experience. What do you think?
