I don't know what's worse someone wearing jeans to an interview or the person in jeans is shot at getting the job are in the hands of 1,000's on YA. Do your job! It's scary that you're asking people for help with YOUR job. You got this responsibility because they thought you could handle it so do what you think is right.

I would based my decision based on her references, background, experience, credit report, drug testing in order to consider making a decision.
Her wardrobe only shows that she is not very ambitious. Maybe she wants a housekeeping job. What position do you have in mind for her?
Dress code should be address at the time of an interview if dress code is an issue for an specific position. You can always let her go before probation time is over.
How old is she? Most young girls only have casual clothes and have no experience on the job force. You can always groom her if you realy like her.
I will never present myself in blue-jeans for an interview, but I am old enough to know the drill. Take care!

I suppose to an extent it depends on the job. If you are looking for a kitchen hand, well maybe jeans are OK for the interview but generally speaking, no jeans really aren't appropriate. If somebody can't make the effort to create a good impression at interview, what will they be like if you give them the job, it's almost as bad as arriving late or chewing gum through the interview.

I would never show up for an interview in jeans. If she can't put her best on for a first time meeting, how will she look in the future when she's comfortable? And with it being a fancy hotel, common sense should tell her to look her best.

NO NO NO, she should have known better, the number one rule for going on an interview is better to overdress then underdress, if she wore jeans its a sign that she really didn't take the interview that seriously, that she really didn't think about what how she was going to present herself to your business, if she is a teenager then i understand because they sometimes don't know any better, but an adult should know this

No, it isn't appropriate. Jeans is not known as professional attire. She should wear a suit at least. So, even if she have the qualifications and is the perfect match for the position, I say forget about her.

Depends on if she was interviewing for a specific position, i.e. restroom attendant, gardener, dish jockey etc. Under most conditions,
odds aren't in favor of those that don't tog out at least a little.

that is very unprofessional. i wouldn't hire her unless she looked like it was the only thing she owned in her closet. im pretty sure she could have borrowed the appropriate attire from one of her firends or a family member. the first impression is the lasting one. her wearing jeans and not dressing business casual states that she is not serious about the job or life.

Only if she was very apologetic! Sometimes I get exceptional candidates who are on their way to or from work and could not have made the appointment if they had changed. If they don't recognize they are inappropriately dressed, sometimes I'll address it to see their response, but I'll only invite back those that apologize for not being professionally dressed!

I vote "no".
With the exception of "my house burned down and this is what I was wearing at the time" or she is your only qualified applicant and you need the job filled today.
