hi i am 20 yrs old
i am currently an architectural drafter for a contractor. I get paid well with full employer paid benefits and such. i only get paid once a month adn i think the job is boring as hell. and i hate the people i work with they are snobby and dont take me seriously. i just sit in my office all day and draw blueprints.
My parents own 2 pet stores and are planning to open another. They want me and my fiance to run it. I will make a little more money and i will get paid weekly. I used to run my parents firat pet store before i got this drafting job so i know what its all about. I do like the work and i like being able to talk with people and care for animals.

my dilemma is i am afriad to leave my stable job with good benefits. I am not certified but my boss wud pay for that. i think i will be much happier working at the petstore.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
should i leave my job to run a store or work in an office job all my life?
keep in mind im only 20 and very confused
i

You obviously want to take the pet store job. Your parents already own 2, and are opening another - which would be great for you.

You may have good benefits, but figure out how much extra it would cost to buy benefits, maybe your fiance can keep his job and get benefits and cover you through there.

Either way, this is fantastic for you to be part of your family business which you love, and you've pretty much made up your mind. Take a risk - you can always go back to a boring office job.

some people can be employees and are fine with it, others have to be their own boss. it sounds like you have the perfect opportunity to be your own boss. i recommend talking to your parents about your hesitations with benefits etc. maybe you can come to an agreement on what is acceptable for both you and them. once you start running the pet store (btw, a job i would love) you can consider other options. whether those options are going back to school for various licenses or certifications, staying at the pet store or looking for another job. either way you will be happier in the meantime while you decide what will make you happier in the long term. good luck.

Happiness is the most important thing in life..It sounds like the Pet store will make you happy.. Running your own business gives you control over your life. If you are smart and do a good job you can make all the money you want.. I was in the same situation as you and choose to work for my family's company..

I'd say you do NOT like the job your in so Please don't stay because of pressure from other people... You sound like you have already made up your mind so do it.
Good luck
