Read this on Yahoo today and frankly found it to be my experience too....group meetings to 'brainstorm' are unproductive...what say you?

To clear up something - particularly for those who opt NOT to read the link - what they meant was do brainstorming meetings in particular 'dumb down' those with outstanding ideas....please read the link - really interested in this premise and what you think

I think the article was on point. Brainstorming seems to gloss over great ideas from individuals because of so many ideas that are coming to the table at one time; however, if there is a good leader or chair person than I think each individuals idea would be looked at and critiqued on the same level.

I don't think that they necessarily make you dumber, but I do think that without a clear agenda or aim that meetings can be a waste of time and therefore money. I think that you need a great chair or leader in a meeting to make it work and if you don't then someone needs to take the lead and work out what you want to acheive and the way to acheive it.
