I really hate my job, it would be ok if the managers left me alone to do it but they are always on the phone to me asking me to do extra work or to say someone has been missed when they haven't or they have got the wrong person. I work in the community but it is not the job that I applied for. It was advatised as rehabilitation but in fact it is home care. I have to be today for 3 oclock but I really dont want to go back and I am not having much luck in finding another job. I have had loads of interviews but it is my lack of experance that keeps on letting me down.

I've been studying English for quite a long time but I've really grown tired of spending money on language courses abroad when I could very well practise the language by living in the UK and mixing with Brits, earning money to live on in the meantime!

However, I wouldn't know how to go about finding a summer job in the UK (not necessarily London). All the people I've heard of got their jobs by chance and usually ended up working at McDonald's, Burger King and the like, which, much as I respect people working there, isn't quite what I'm looking for since it wouldn't give me the chance of practising the language as much as I would like to.

What, frankly, could I actually aspire to? And, most importantly, could anyone suggest what I should do in order to safely find a job, possibly even before leaving for the UK? Thank you.

By the way, I'm Italian.

My employer failed to pay me my wages I worked in an independant school I didn't get paid for July or August then he contacted me apologised and asked me to go back in September he promised to pay what he owed as soon as the funding came through.
In September guess what I didn't get paid. He said the bank took all of his money to cover his overdraft. He said as much as he would like to pay us he can't give us what he doesn't have. He then had the cheek to ask us to work on a voluntary basis until he can get himself straight.
He and his wife are still driving around in their Jeep's and he has started a new business which I believe is thriving.
He said if we try to take him to court he will put the company into liquidation and we will get nothing.
Also he isn't giving out any references to prospective employers.
I really don't know how to deal with this. I have got another job but I want the money he owes me it is after all 3 months wages and I can't afford to lose that.

I'm the only girl in my team at the job I work at in a factory . And I have been at this new job for a month now. I have gotten to know that attitudes of my coworkers and in particular 2 who think it is funny to laugh at me and act childish when I make a mistake, or misunderstand what someone is saying. We wear earplugs so it is very hard to understand. One coworker called me a moron when there was a forklift behind me and I didnt see it, he didn't even tell me to move he just said "Hey Moron" infront of everyone, then he said im stubborn or something, he isn't very good in english but I know what he says. The 2nd guy just laughs at me if he says something I don't understand or if I make a mistake, he does this thing with his hand and points at his face making circles, which means retarded in child language, and he continues to laugh. At the same time he tells me "do u ever listen?" I'm not close with either of these people. But I laugh it off when I feel like crap. Advice?

with the environment, becoming such a big part of our lives. i would like to look into a business with something to do with this. i already have a good job but i am bored with it, and would love to work for myself. im looking into ways of maybe making existing houses more environmentally friendly, or what can be done to new builds to make them more environmentally friendly. e.g solar panels. i have a few ideas anyone else any thoughts. the environment and the construction industries are things that i am very interested in that why have chosen these two subjects.

This question is common I am sure. I work full-time to pay the bills and go to a community college part- time in the evenings. I want to eventually quit my job and do school full time - however I don't know what the heck I want to do. I mean really WANT! If I spend 4 years in college I want to be sure I am going towards something I love that will also bring in enough money to live comfortably. i and my hubby have been married for abt 4 months.. we are in our earli twenties... Aft marriage, i had suffered with Chicken pox.. Since there was no elderly around to take care of me.. my hubbi went on urgent leave which lasted more then 10 days.. and since i stil did not get any better.. he resigned his job jst to take care of me... since then... he have have been finding for job but NOTHIn came by...Sad to say, he hav given up hope on gettin a job.. Recently i gave him cash to take his motocycle licence... and he is doing good..At the moment he hav lots of jobs in mind which will need his licence.. so he is jst hurrying to finish his course as soon as possible..
Wat troubles me is: i jst feel he is not worried how i am mending the house... how do i settle the household bills ect ect... i feel he's LAZY!!! i seriously don noe .. i feel he's selfish.. y doesn't he think of going to a Part time job for the time being??? wen i discuss this with him,its ends up in a fight!!!i hate him!
