You can look into sustainable builds - but my advice would be that is very hard market to get into at the moment, i would recommend that you make sure that you are qualified to take about sustainability issues - look to get a job in a consultancy first. I don't know what you currently work in but my advice is that these issues won't go away but maybe you need to think about your career short term rather than long at the moment.

Don't go to Friends of the Earth they will fill your head with mumbo jumbo that will not be of any use to you, speak to people who work in this issue before embarking on a career in this area.

On another note sustainability specialist are some of the highest paid workers in the environmental sector

You are interested in environment and consturction, so I take it you want to do something with energy conservation. You could instal double glazing or solar panels for people. You can have a good sales pitch if you mention heatin issues for the house or electricity bills and how they are going to rise with constant pressure with this global warming. The problem is, they tackle this environment issue from the wrong angle. Global warming would occur with or without our greenhouse gases, it's just a fact. However, packaging and packaging waste is a bigger issue. We are so riddled with waste, it's unbelievable. I've had some ideas before for waste but that's not on the news so people or companies wouldn't want to know. Global warming is the buzz expression at the moment so you need to build on that at the moment. Good luck with your new venture!

Try contacting Friends of the Earth for their advice.

They may be able to give you ideas of other companies that specialise in this kind of thing or may be able to give you ideas of qualifications to train for.

Good luck!
