I work in the Oil Industry for one of the majors, though not offshore.

Just been through my files and found some contacts for you, you should get all the info you need from their websites. Good luck XX

There are many differing tasks involved in offshore working and without knowing your husband's skills it is hard to advise. Ideally he will have a good mechanical or technical background although it is not always necessary.

Another thing is in what area do you live? If you are close to Aberdeen your options are far wider because your husband will have the opportunity to join a service company rather than working with an offshore drilling company.

If your husband agrees you can send his CV to me (in confidence of course) and I can advise further.
