Is it unprofessional to list your previous employmers without entering the dates of which you worked for them. Is it OK to just list the Company Name and then your job duties for each. Also how many years of current/previous employment is sufficient to list. The last 5? 10? Any answers, advice, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I work with a man that lives with his mother and is in likeness to Norman Bates. He must hate women because he treats every woman as inferior to him and just talks down to them in general really badly like they can't even handle basic tasks like alphabetizing. He was recently put on a 2 day suspension for yelling at my boss who is no surprise a woman. I don't know why he is still at my job. He is egotistical, mean, and just a creep in general which nobody really can stand. He needs to get out of there and I feel really uncomfortable around him now knowing he can "lose it" any time. What can I do to let this creep know that even though my workplace tolerates his crap I won't without getting myself in trouble? He has been there longer than me and I do stand up for myself but the whole situation makes me so angry I hate working with him.

My sister works at an university, and her boss is a woman, who happens to be very emotionally and mentally disturbed, cries all the time, and asks my sister to do, what I call, beyond the call of duty sort of tasks. Well, today she asked my sister, while she was sobbing, if my sister could come over to her house and help her vaccuum up her flea infested carpeting this Sunday. Mind you, this is my sister's only day off, as she works 2 jobs and goes to graduate school full time. Was this appropriate? My sister feels awkard because this lady is her boss, and her house is within walking distance to my sister's. My sister wants to be polite and not hurt her feelings, or feel that she is not performing the functions of her job to the best of her ability. Any advice?

I'm advising a high school senior -- just a friend, not in an official capacity. Typical teenager, he has no idea what he'd like to do with his life.

His exact comments are: "I like working with my hands, but having to think about what I'm doing. I dont think I could ever work a desk job." I agree: there's no way he's right for a desk job.

He currently cooks in a fast food place. "All motion, no thinking." He hates it.

Any suggestions as to what kind of career might fit these requirements?

The thing is I just started a job and I thought I did okay on the interview but then I received a call saying I got the job. Now my boss said he will start me off at a higher salary than he is suppose to since he can't forget a face like mine. Now here is the thing, as it turns out my friend applied to the same job and has better credentials than me for that job and said she did great on the interview.....she didn't get the job. In a way I feel bad but what am I suppose to say "No" to a great job that can help me out?

I have a question. How is a woman getting pregnant relevant to how well she can perform a job? My dad works as an engineer in a major company and he has a male friend who works there and that we think of as a family friend of course. We know him well and he has been married to his second wife for a year or two. They are in their mid twenties to early thirties. The friends' wife worked at some major company. I have only met her a few times but now I can't remember what she does for a living. I think she had been at her job for about five to ten years or so. All of a sudden she gets pregnant and they fire her. Well, I asked my dad did they give her a reason for firing her like being late or bad job performance and he says no, they let her go for being pregnant. I think she works at an administrative type job. It has been a couple of months or so since they did so. Personally, I think she should sue them.
