Is it unprofessional to list your previous employmers without entering the dates of which you worked for them. Is it OK to just list the Company Name and then your job duties for each. Also how many years of current/previous employment is sufficient to list. The last 5? 10? Any answers, advice, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It will vary from country to country and industry to industry. I have been employed as a consultant to assist with many seniors appointments. I would personally disregard the application if:
1. Dates of employment are not listed
2. The person does not provide ALL employment since leaving school. OR give reason for breaks e.g. studies, travel , prison etc

I would put at least the year(s) of employment (i.e., 2005-2006).

The format I use in my resumes is first list all skills, then list all employers in the last 5 years (or last 3 employers, whichever looks right). I don't list skills/duties under each employer, though, as a number of my skills were self-taught or learned in school.

5 employers should be sufficient, unless they were very short term. If so, go back to the longest employment.

Dates are important. If there were any years of unemployment, state reason.

List any positive contributions that you may have performed in a previous position. A potential employer wants to know what "you can offer them".

Definitely use dates and list employers that will show the skills that will benefit this employer for hiring you.
