I want to know what at what age I can apply for jobs like at Starbucks or something. In california.

P.s. the starbucks near me doesn't serve alcohol, just wanted to say that first since I've heard that some do :/

Well, you could go as early as 14 I believe if you have a work permit. However, the companies themselves might have a standard age, such as Starbucks.

And it doesnt matter about what they sell. I see teenagers all the time working at places such as grocery stores that sell alcohol and cigarites.

Starbucks prefers to hire 17+ year olds, as do most companies in California, but legal age is 16.

You can be as young as 14... however, there are so many restrictions of the number of breaks, the hours you can/can't work, work permits from your school that no place will want to hire you. The exeption is probably farms that need help tending to their crops. In the summer a lot of kids get job picking strawberries. Most places like McDonald's won't hire until you are 16.

16..and the schools permission....oh and your parents.
Good luck though Calif. is going to raise the min. wage again..and employers are now looking to hire experienced people only.
