The thing is I just started a job and I thought I did okay on the interview but then I received a call saying I got the job. Now my boss said he will start me off at a higher salary than he is suppose to since he can't forget a face like mine. Now here is the thing, as it turns out my friend applied to the same job and has better credentials than me for that job and said she did great on the interview.....she didn't get the job. In a way I feel bad but what am I suppose to say "No" to a great job that can help me out?

Credentials spedentials, you got the job that's great. Go into work knowing you got the job on your uniqueness. Something about you told this guy you are better fit for the job than your friend and anyone else who applied. Now it's time to prove that he made the right decision so work hard and let them know your an advancing product.

P.S. Don't take any crap if this guy starts to be creepy. But I'm sure he just thought you were cute and he's trying to make you feel good about yourself.

What kind of job is this ? Does it require looks ?
If not, then consider the following.

1. You future boss openly say this to you ? What do you think he may mean ? Is he coming onto you ? If so, do you like him ? If not, then it may eventually becomes harrassment.
What I am trying to say is that you may get into a unhealthy working environment. So consider that aspect even though it may be a great job on paper. But what if your boss does not give you a chance once you turn him down on his unwanted advances.

Looks will get someone a job.I fell victim to my own stupidity 20 years ago and hired a very pretty lady over some better qualified folks.Had to retrain her to use the time clock each morning. First and last time I ever fell to eye lust over a employee.
My advice to you young lady .Learn your job and do it well .keep a tape recorder handy. For if your boss ever decides he wants more than a pretty face in the office .You can set your self up with a early retirement. Never compromise yourself over a job.Prostitution can come in many forms other than a few bucks under your pillow.

Say Yes to the job, but do not hurt your friend's feelings by mentioning this. If any kind of sexual harrasment happens on the job, you know what to do. But he probably was just saying that to be nice.

My experience is that if you are going through that, a lot of times, the upper management is more crutial of you and demand more out of you because they want to make an example and don't want to be accused of 'hitting on you.' So that is a disadvantage also.

Happens all the time in sales. I can tell you for a FACT that several of the large pharmaceutical companies do this.

(No, I'm not a pharma salesperson. Some of my clients are in the industry.)
