I just recently got picked up for an interview w/ a respectable bank. A dream career I have been waiting for almost 2yrs. Most (introduction) interviews start out pretty standard. One of the first thing a recruiter will ask is * Have you ever been convicted of a felony?*, I answered "no". However, I failed to mention that I had a misdemeanor in Nov2005-It is still a criminal act. I am really passionate about this career opportunity. I want to tell them, and hope they grade me on performance, not by my past. Since my misdemeanor, I have cleaned up my act, took responsibility for my actions, and went back to college. I became a better person in fact. But I don't think they will be as leinient.

I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.

I am a recent graduate, who was working parttime through my degree. When I finished uni i asked for more hours at my job, was constantly refused. My friend told me a bout graduate placement scheme that gets unpaid placements, for UNEMPLOYED graduates.Quit my job signed on and applied for countless jobs, all saying i wasnt experienced enough, eventually i found placement in an office which starts next week(not payed), in the meantime i have just been selceted to come for an interview, aswell as applying for another two jobs which i am confident of securing an interview.ONly now, the job centre has stopped my dole after saying i voluntarily left my PARTTIME job!!I already explained the chain of events saying i need to be unemployed,to get on garduate scheme,to get experience,to get a full time job.Now i am down to £0.00 i cant attend the graduate scheme, the unpaid placement or the job interview, or pay rent!!! What should I do, I thought i was just out the woods!!!Any help????

I'd love to take pictures for National Geographic or some sort of NGO/humanitarian organization. My degree is in history and international studies, and I've taken one photography class. I've travelled extensively and love both photography and travelling. Any recommendations for further education? How could I begin to market myself in this field?

I sit near a coworker who doesn't have a problem with burping loudly and not holding back at all. He will just let it rip, not hold back at all and then say quietly, "excuse me". This has gotten under my skin and I feel like screaming at him, I find it so gross to have to sit and listen to it all day everyday. He is also the most annoying person to work with ever. He joins in on every conversation in the office, personal or work related and no matter where you are he just suddenly shows up. He has long, loud personal phone calls that will go on for 20 mins or more, usually someone ends up emailing him and telling him to take the outside.

Would it be rude to point out that personal noises should be kept to yourself? Excuse me doesn't mean you can just let it rip and then you are ok once you say excuse me.

I'm currently employed in retail, and while I enjoy the people I work with and the money, it's a bit stressful and I'm not really *happy*. I don't want to just quit, but I've been thinking...what sort of part-time job is good for someone who wants to be a novelist? Or at least a writer in general? Is there something that I, as a student, could do that would help me gain skills in the areas I'm interested in?
