No because he claims it back off the government,however you will only get 2 days pay as you dont get paid for the first 3 days of any sickness period.

Statutory sick pay? What state do you live in? If sick pay was created in your state by a statute, then of course he can't refuse to give it to you. There should be some kind of penalty for him in the statute itself.

If you are talking about your employment contract, then you probably will have to sue to get that money, unless there is a grievance procedure in the contract.

Its up to your boss, its not a requirment. if u were off sick for a week, you wont get paid for first 3days, only 2 days.

You get this from the state, but yes he can refuse....my hubby gets no sick pay or holiday pay at all.
I thought it was wrong but cant do anything about it...talk to CAB

how long have you been in your job?
this will depend on weather your intitled to any kind of sick pay if any.
12 months in full time employment the answer is yes.
if part time employment you need to be working for 5 years for anything

no cos your employer doesnt pay SSP the government does thats why you pay NI to the government.
tell him to get his beak out your business. and yuo should have filled in the bakc of the sick note.

no he cant refuse u as it is the goverment that pays not him!
it is paid through your national insurance contributions.... altho u wont get anything for the first 3 days..
is he trying to hide something from the national insurance people?
