Today, my boss recommended for me to attend a one-day seminar on How To Control Your Emotions. She feels that I am easily angered by small details and tells me that this may hurt my career down the road. Your thoughts on this, please. Thanks!

I asked for 2 days off work three weeks ago, and have just been told that I can't have them off (I have over 200 hrs holidays owing)
I wanted them off as I am moving house this weekend (I get the keys on sat afternoon.. so I wanted mon & tues off aswell as I am a single female that has to organise this move on my own and I don't have any family in my city to help me move..and friends can only help me sat arvo & sun arvo.. I have heard moving is one of lifes most stressfull experiences..This I am feeling already as I am awake till 2am everynight worrying how I am going to get this move done..Should I just make everyone at work happy and go in annoyed, stressed and pis**d off.. or should I just take the days off as sick leave even though they will know I'm only doing it to move, and unpack..and possibly get in trouble with the boss??(probably will).. I am stretched financially because of this move and cannot afford to pay removalists or lose my job.. what do you think I should do??

I know most people would just say "I quit" upfront, but I can't just say that. I have worked there for like 6 months, and I want to quit to get a higher paying job. It's a fast food job, and they probably need me more than I need them, I do the Drive-Thru on the busiest days, and I don't know what to do. I was suppose to get 2 raises, but they failed to do evaluate me, and I like the job and all, but $5.50 is lousy pay.

I'm trying to get away from the Fast Food industry, and get a more better job, but I'm 16, and this is my first job.

I'm 25, in good shape, and financially stable from smart investment decisions. I'm interested in becoming a firefighter so I can help people and have an exciting job, and I was wondering if any other firefighters could give me some insight into the traning and rigors of the job.

Serious answers only, please.

I was offered two different jobs today. Here are the details
1. Second shift, 3:30 - 11:30 PM Monday - Friday from September to June (I live in Wisconsin where it snows during the winter), first shift from June until September, union job, pay starts at $11.09/hour and will go up to $13/hour by next July, full benefits including dental, medical and life insurance, long term disability, state retirement. I have done this type of job for 26 years and I HATE DOING IT!!!!!

2. First shift 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday and every third Saturday for 3 hours, non-union, pay starts at $10/hour and will go to $10.50/hour in 90 days, no dental insurance but has every other type of insurance as well as two retirement plans. This would be a new type of job for me and I would LOVE THIS JOB!!!

Both jobs are 20 miles from where I live.

Which should I choose? I have to let them know in the morning.

I live in Houston, Texas and I was concerned if Paramedics are able to live comfortably off their salaries. I want to pursue a license next year to eventually work as a Paramedic, but I haven't heard from any people who work in the career field as of yet.

I have decided to start a business doing something I really enjoy. However, I am having difficulty naming it. I had a hard enough time naming three kids, lol. I am planning on opening an ebay store and doing a blog or website. Anyway, I bake cakes, pumpkin rolls, Christmas cookies, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels and cookies rolled in sprinkles and such. Things like that....baby shower favors, etc. I appreicate your suggestions. I like clever and whimsical yet simple names...lol...I am so demanding right? Please help if you can!

My supervisor's desk is about 25 feet away from mine and he farts all day long. He acts like nothing happened but I can hear them. I can't smell it but it really grosses me out. Should I say something to him? Should I say, "Hey quit farting over there!" Or should I ignore it?

I only been 2 months in my new company. Now i'm 1 month pregnant. That's mean before i reach a year in my new company, i'll be giving birth to my baby. I wonder my boss will fired me because i have to take up maternity leave before i am 1 year in this company. Will he? I don't want to lose my job. And by the way, this company has a few partners. Even if i discuss with the big boss, i afraid the partners might not agree of me having a maternity leave though i did not play much important role in the company. What if they rather take up a new person to replace me and i will lose my job. I can't afford to as i will be losing my income partly to support my husband too. My problem is, i'm very afraid the boss will fired me as pregnant lady will bring problem for the company such as going for medical check-up and maternity leave. Please help.. i'm worried!

I missed their "deadline" by 13 days. I'll have no health benefits and only what I now have i my retirement fund, which isn't very much, certainly not enough to retire on.
