If everybody were paid great wages no matter how they worked, How many hours would you suggest people should work in a typical work week??

I would say four consecutive days with eight of hours work each day. I think weekends are too short right now.

Don't forget the saying:"does not matter how many hours you put in, but what you put in the hours' - if the objective is very clear the hours you put in will be lesser.

4-10s or 5-8s...the body and mind needs rest, relaxation, and a healthy diet, to perform in top notch condition... "great wages" greed will kill you..!
