Asking for a friend.. A mom friend in a suburb of Charlotte, NC is having to find work due to divorce after 22 years of full-time-momdom. She completed high school and one year of college but has no corporate experience at all. Does anyone now of any resources in the area that could help her transition into the work world? She still has two young kids - 12 and 5 living with her. Thank-you for any tips.

They called me before the interview to ask some preliminary questions such as , how much are you looking to get paid? So I said between 8-850. Then at the interview, they said are you ok with being paid 7.70. Is it possible they said that just to see if I'd say something about wanting more, or if Id settle?

I have done some reasearch on copywriting. It seems to be a very interesting and profitable career field. However, I have no clue on how anyone would go about starting a career in this field. I am particularly interested in freelance copywriting. I was wondering if anyone out here had any good advice or tips on how to start out in this business. I would like to start on a part time basis doing freelance work and hopefully take it from there.

I have just been offered a position at a very large corporation as a Project Accountant. I have a pending charge on my record for computer theft. This charge will be taken off my record once i go to court, but I just don't know when that will be. Do you think the other company will still offer me the position when they see my record?

Here is the full question. I have worked for over 10 years in a professional job. I was with the same employer so I didn't have to renegotiate salary during that 10 year period. I left my full time job to complete a college degree and work part time. Now that I have years of experience and a collge degree, how can I emphasize that on a resume so that the employer doesn't just focus on the fact that I am a recent college graduate? I don't want to be viewed as an entry level employee.

Also, I am seeing a lot of jobs online that require a salary history with resume submission. Since I was working part time to complete a degree, my salary history was low for the past 2 years. How can I negotiate a salary that is worth my experience and education now? Any help is appreciated!
