I keep calling a naval museum about a position I'm interested in; met all the qualifications, my resume's been looked at by a career counselor, etc.

I passed the first interview with a supervisor; now I need to get a second one with HIS boss. I've been calling for several weeks (about 3 months or so). Should I continue to bug the crap out of these guys?

Likewise with similar jobs, how long would it take me to call someone before I am granted an interview? Does calling them once a week help anything? I understand that they are busy and such; it's just that I would like a job that would help put me through a master's degree program.

At the moment, this is getting QUITE FRUSTRATING and I feel like I should give up and start some crappy home-based business.

Any advice?

Don't you just hate the " What is your biggest weakness question?"

To me that shows a weakness on the part of the interviewer, not being able to come up something more creative.

Below please reply as you would if you could reply any way you wanted.

i recently started work as a paralegal at an ethnically diverse law firm. however, the corporate culture (actually its a small private firm managed by one man) is manipulative and selfish. there are no boundries as far as work accountability is concerned. our meetings are basically focused on assigning blame. and the co-workers are also selfish. if we work late hours, they "sneak in"food without asking (even politely) the new person (one other person besides me). secondly my immediate supervisor has an extremely flexible schedule due to her kid and comes and goes as she pleases, and takes days off without any notice or reason. while, i'm expected to pick up on her work and get the blame too. boss has mentioned many times in meetings that i am available to work more hours since i dont have children. 3rd everyone is allowed to give me work. 4th i commute 2 1/2 hrs each day and work 6 days a week. i want to confront my boss but cant afford to lose the money. is this normal?should i stay?

i'm a 25 year old mother and attending college online. But I would like to make some extra income that I DO NOT have to pay. I've looked around and did some research and most of them are scams. Like Surveys for instance and data jobs.

I'm currently an IT business analyst with about 3-4 years experience and now I have the opportunity to choose between moving towards IT strategy consulting or project management. What do think is the better path to take in terms of opportunities, money, lifestyle.....etc etc. ?

What if you interview for a full time job at a large company and then they tell you that you will be getting your pay checks and benefits from a staffing agency every week...what does that mean? Is it in fact a temp or long term temp position instead of a full time job? can a company lie about this? i never heard of that and i think it's a bit strange, like why would you be getting paid from a staffing agency when all other employees are getting paid from the company? how to best handle this and not get stuck in a temp position?

In working where I have been for the past while, I have come to know the company very well and now I want to help make a change in how my department is run. Can anyone tell me how to instigate change here without stepping on my bosses’ toes (considering my boss doesn’t want change, but I know it’s best for the company)?

He was so mad that I presented some news that was so bleak and negative that he did not want to accept the report. All I did was report how the financial markets and earnings resulted for the past year. I also benchmarked the results with other similar companies in the same industry. Our company did not do too hot, but the Chairman got mad at me for reporting such negative results. All I did was do my job and analyze the data. What should I do to get back the good grace from Senior Management?

I just got an interview with Macy's East entry position as a Financial Analyst in NYC. It's my first formal interview, so, I was wondering what I should bring with me. Purse (medium sized black), binder, pen, etc....I don't own a breifcase. I'm wearing a grey pencil-skirt suit with a white dress shirt, are black shoes ok? Thank in advance~

If any of you have had a similar job, what do interviewers look for? What questions do they typically ask?
