If it has been more than a week, I'd almost certainly say that they are looking for someone else, unless they gave you some specific reason why they are not hiring until a certain date.

Employers generally have to go to great lengths to make time in their day for interviewing, and they usually don't wait around more than a day or two after they've found someone they think fits the job, just long enough to finish interviewing the other possible candidates that already have interviews scheduled. They don't want that person to get away. So, it's not like they just want to interview 50 people and have the time for it. Unless you truly think they're considering you, you probably need to go ahead and keep looking. Good luck in your job hunting.

Well, you can't force them too.

I'd guess your best bet would be to tell them 'you're my first choice as an employer, but I'm receiving other offers. Is there anything I can do to help this process along?"

unfortunately, u can't expedite the process. if they did that, we'd all have jobs. hehehe. it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks for them to process or more, i know it sucks! anyways, just be patient and i hope u'll get the job you really want. good luck!
