I have started a new job like 1 month ago. Its in a new job field (Auto repair), and accounting.

Granted its office work, but its a totally different area I have worked in. I have a good boss. But I see her getting frustrated cuz there is so many things I dont know. And I am getting frustrated.

It sometimes takes me a few times doing something to get it. And also I am not a very orgainized person. And she is.

I am so scared she will get tired of me, and fire me.
I know I should be easier on myself. But its hard. She told me today that when we get real busy its not gonna be good for me.

How do I get organized and learn this new job faster than I am?

I found out that the person in my position before me made 3,000/year more than I do, even though we both have the same educational background and work experience. I don't think this is fair, and it's definitely more about the principle than about the money (although the money is nice too, of course).

I'm not supposed to know what the former person's salary is, so if I disclose that I know it (because she told me), we'd both get in trouble. (She still works here, but in a different position; plus, we're friends, so I also don't want to get her in trouble.)

Should I complain??

Thanks in advance for your help!

My boss promised me a raise and then didn't give it to me at my review, even though I had done a lot of great things. So I went over his head and ended up getting it. Since then, he's been a total jerk to me and won't even talk to me; he will only communicate via email even though his office is right next to mine. He is very childish, going so far as to ignore me when I say good morning or let the door slam on me if he is in front of me. He is constantly trying to submarine me by pointing out errors in my work through email and copying the entire company, which is highly unnecessary. How should I deal with this?

I completed an internship this past summer at a major corporation. They really liked my work, and because of my distant graduation date, they weren't able to make me a job offer. However, they want me to stick around, and complete a second internship with them this summer....

I loved the internship, it was great, and worth my time. However, it has nothing to do with my field of study, and i'd rather pursue an internship from a corp. within my field... How can I decline, without completely shutting the door? (incase I do wish to come back someday..)

I work for a very small company (under 10 employees) - i have always been a good employee however in the last 6 months i have gotten divorced from a mentally ill spouse, moved 2 times, dealt with real estate and divorce lawyers, cared for a parent with cancer, tried to stay on top of my treatments for past cancer scare, and raise 2 kids that i have sole custody of. I am planning to give 30 days notice to my employer next week. I've been working for her over 4 years. I feel she may take it personally (as she tends to do) and let me go right then and there. Can she do that without paying me for the rest of my time?

I work for a compnay that claims that it is company policy for all its employees to do 40 hours of volunter work a year. Now the problem is in the memo they sent for it, it said it was optional, now they are telling us we have to, and that they will pay us. The few of us that dont want to do it are getting perturbed, we dont have time to be doing volunteer work or actual work.....So i guess the real question would be is it against some sort of policy for employers of a company to force volunteer work upon there employees, and not give them a reason that they have to do it?

After two 3.5 hour half days we are expected to take live calls for credit authorizations. Making credit decisions! Holy crap. I need the money but I am freaking out here. Usually when I go to a customer service job, they have a few weeks of training and you get to listen in on the calls of experienced reps. Not here. And I am the only guy in the training class who speaks decent english and I have to get paired up with a trainee that i cannot understand very well. I'm panicking!

I find it amazing to see old people, between 70-90 still working in grocery stores. Do these people have to work or do they just want to work? If they have to work, then the social system in America sxyks I've never seen that in Europe.

I went to an interview Monday, then they asked to come back for someone else to interview me on Wednesday. On Wednesday they told me they'd have a decision on Friday. On friday they called me telling me if I could go to a third interviews. This Monday they called me telling the third interview would be on Today, but they'd called me back to tell me at what time. It's Today, I haven't heard from them, what should I do? I don't have their number, they just call me to the my cubicle phone which doesn't have caller ID. I really want to get out of this place.

What can I do?

HI there this is my second question. I have tons of (6yrs) experience IT systems for Fiancial markets, i have worked on a derivative/ equity trading floor. I am taking CFA Level 1 next june.
what are my options, how do i decide.
In terms of IT i dont know and i dont want to know any coding.
In markets, i love trading desk's, i love coming up with stock pics or derivaties stratergies. I have extremely good analytical abilty
but i dont like the phone, i cant make sales pitches.
whats my best choice, i would even consider ending up as a protfolio manager some day.
i need some one to guide me and explain my options, evaluate my strenghts and weaknesses and tell me my best course of action.
im 25 now, so i have time on my side.
from my current position the next logical step would be a Business Analyst in the IT dept of a large broker.
i can get that easliy pays about 75-80K but im not sure whether i want to go that deep into IT or not. PLEASE HELP CANT SLEEP BECOS OF THIS DILEMA!
