Well I have been in the health care industry for a very long time and based on what I know you are better off going for your registered nursing degree (ASN or BSN) They are in very high demand - the pay is far better and you spend just as much time in school as you would for x-ray tech. Unfortunately x-ray techs arent in high demand like nurses are. You can live basically anywhere in the country and there is a need for nurses. If you have a problem doing some of the nurses tasks (blood draw, iv) just deal with it and eventually it becomes easier and after a couple of years you can transfer to doing something like utilization management or counseling and not deal with clinical issues. Good luck !

X-ray tech is also in demand. Respiratory therapist is a good career field, how about Certified Occupational Therapist (COTA), or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). Good career fields because of the baby boomers getting up in age and they will need this type of assistance. Takes more anatomy than chemistry.

X-ray school is challenging, though it depends on the prof. There is usually a waiting list as they only accept a certain number of students. The demand varies depending on your location. Pay is fairly equally, though it depends on your location. X-ray tech's see many more patients than nursing and for a shorter time. Check your people skills
