I have been going through the recruiting and screening process for a part time entry level position with a large company. I am trying to remain positive but the process has left me a little leery. I have been through a pre-screening test, two interviews as well as a battery of tests- everything from keyboarding skills to personality tests. Plus provided information and release forms for background checks, references etc. I believe I have approached this process with a good attitude and I have been sincere and honest. I understand that they want to make good hiring decisions but I am starting to feel like I am not sure that I even want to work for this company. They seem to have this attitude of mistrust and emphasis on how strict their employment policies are. I should add that I do have experience, a good work history and references. I am wondering if I should be happy that I am a candidate for such a company or if I should be worried what they might treat me like if I am hired.

I work for a very small firm. My boss (the owner) often goes off on my coworkers--one left, and the other is still here. He's an intern with very little experience, and the boss will sometimes rip him a new one, when he could be a lot more tactful. From what I hear, employees in the past have left because of this.

For whatever reason, the boss doesn't act this way toward me. If he starts to, I basically react like I won't have any of it.

My question is: when he does go off on my coworker, should I speak up? I hate being the middleman in these situations. The boss will gripe to me about the coworker when he's not there, and the coworker vents to me about the boss when the boss isn't there. What should I do?

My coworkers (including the one who left) don't do great work, but it's no excuse for my boss being unprofessional. Any advice...?

I was wondering which jobs in Ontario pay the highest amount. If Ontario is too small an area, just all in Canada. If you answer doctor, which kinds of doctors pay the most. I know this is a popular answer, but all sources say they make different amounts. If you could answer with maybe 5 results and how much they pay, that would be great, and I would be happy to give you ten points for the best answer.

I graduated with a B.F.A. in Painting which basically gets you nowhere in the job market. I am curious if anyone can recommend any full time jobs that provide decent pay and do not require a specific degree.

Each week all I [and my coworkers] receive from our boss is a plain company check. I signed a W2 and taxes are being taken out, but he does not give us pay stubs showing hours, amount of taxes, hourly wage, etc. I feel uncomfortable not having anything to keep for my records, and it just doesn't seem right that all he gives us is a check with our weekly amount writtin in. Does this sound fishy to anyone else?

What do you think. Do you think that beggers can't be choosers? I think that I am going to be offered a job tomorrow and it is $3.00 less than what I have been making the last 4 years. I have been making $12.00/hr and the job I might be getting offered is $9.00/hr. Pharmacy Technician. I have 4 months experience and they require no experience the last Pharmacy job I had was $13/hr but I had to leave because I couldn't work the evening shift. Now I am looking for work because the job I am in now the contract is ending and I will need work pretty soon. Should I take it for $9/hr or should I try to negotiate? What should I say?

i didn't take/get the job the first time b/c my salary requirements were above what they were offering, although they liked me. the person they hired did not work out. now, we are meeting again in hopes to find a compromise on salary. (i believe they are interviewing others.) the office is casual; everyone was in jeans. i have a very smart outfit picked out, but it is not a full suit. basically a black pinstriped jacket with black cropped wide pants... is this okay for a fashion job?
