That's a tough question, given your present income of $50K, which is a very very nice income for someone in their early twenties.

My pat answer is to always get the education. Believe me, most of it is a waste of money, but when the economy sinks (which is always does) employers like people with degrees. Even where I work, the bosses ask, "Does she/he have a degree?" They look for that stamp of approval; I suppose it indicates to them that you are the kind or person that will get up and go to college classes for 4 years, so you are realiable. Frankly, I think that a 2 year business school provides a better education for the real world, but not sure if that "certificate" is meaningful to others in the business world.

To be honest, I don't know how to answer you. If you are making $50K now, that's sweet money. But, with a degree, you may or may not earn more. One thing a college degree WILL DO is be a bit of an insurance policy if jobs become harder to find.

I took 2 years off before college. I worked part-time and pretty much acted like a bum (lol). It sounds like you have a great paying job. $50,000 a year is great (I'm wondering how you pull that off without a degree) and I'm sure a lot of people with degrees would probably be envious.
I don't think it makes much of difference if you work now and buy your house, or you buy it later. Either way you're going to go back to school. The only thing I can say is that if you take a break from your education, you may be tempted to not return. And what if you change your mind as you get older and you've already paid for this house? (You could sell it of course, hopefully the market will be up). Also, is the job you have now a sure thing?
If I could do it all again, i'd have gone to school instead of working. I'd be halfway through my degree by now.
I probably just confused you more. Sorry. Good luck.

Many people work and go to school.

As for that "get rich and become a star/live like one" dream, dream on. Many people have the same dream but don't achieve it.

Why not be satisfied getting a good education, a good paying job, setting some of your earnings aside for retirement and being able to live comfortably after doing so?

If you put school on the back burner in this stage in your life, you might never end up going back in two or three years and you could end up regretting that for a long time. If you have the chance to go to school right now I would, because in life things can change quickly and something could occur that would prevent you from ever getting a chance to go back to school in the future.

Work during the day and go to school in the evening. This way you can have the best of both worlds.

Speaking from experience, go to school! I was stupid and thought it would be great to go to work and make lots of money and not worry about school. I am not 26 and I could kick myself for not putting my education first. Now I HAVE to work to pay the bills and can only take classes at night (and believe me night classes are really limited in variety). It I could go back I would put my education first.

I'm in the 11th grade. Me and my parents agreed that i should work for a year or so to save some money up (if i don't get a scholarship) then go to college. Obviously, If i get a scholarship, then i would go to college out of high school.

You could keep working and attend night school. Its not easy working and studying, but might be worth the effort to get more qualified.
