This guy that i work with is so loud and rude. He is right across from my cube. He yells about how a good job he does all the time at the top of his lungs. He is always singing loud while we are taking important phone calls. He never shuts up.

I would like to find a way to make money at home, although I have been hesitant to try anything yet for fear of scams. Have any of you come across something like this and been successfull at it? Or have you been scammed?

it's happen to me at least five times within the six years of working here.
i once work up thinking thinking i was late. i had missed the city bus to take me there, so i walked. it took me thirty minutes to get there (i don't really live too far, but it is a thirty minute walk). i got there, i was ready to clock in, but walked past my schedule, and saw that i wasn't even suppose to be here.
there was a McDonalds near by, so i stopped there on my way home.

We are a small office and there are several individuals who get away with everything. From coming in late, lying on their timesheet, not documenting lunches, leaving early, sleeping at their desk, talking on the phone all day... the list goes on and on! One that really ticks me off... allowed to take time off when they're out of PTO and are documented as present on the days missed! Yea, that's the truth!

Does anyone else have this problem? I know I need to just turn my head and focus on my work but I can't help but have resentment towards these people cause they get away with murder! It's to the point I don't even make eye contact with them cause I have no desire to speak to them. I am that IRATE!

What do/would you do?

If someone you knew
a) didn't have or want kids
b) owned a home outright (worth not millions, but enough to live off the profits if it had to be sold) in a really affluent area.
c) didn't have to pay property tax on house, insurance on car, or the car they drive (a porsche)
d) didn't have to pay for food or any other daily items.
e) was able to spend $5 or $7,000 on clothes and other gifts.
f) doesn't work at all except volunteer work
g) was able to afford maybe 1 vacation a year ($3,000)
h) no other bills or debt

I know someone like this (not me, I wish!) & she insists she is not rich (because she still has a budget) but she seems pretty rich to me.

This lady is very very smart, she went to an Ivy League school & has a graduate degree also.

I interviewed last week for a writing position with a company. I was there for almost 3 hours. I took two tests, and interviewed with 3 individuals. Then the final part of the interview was a take home writing assignment. I was given a week to complete the assignment, but to show them how much I wanted the job, I had it to them in 3 days. Earlier this week, I saw that the position was re-posted on the internet. Obviously this does not bode well, so I called to reinterate my interest. I left a message that went unreturned. I followed up with an email two days ago thanking them once more (I had already thanked all 3 the day after the interview) and to ask when they expected to make a decision. That too went unreturned. Obviously I realize I am out of the running, but considering employers make us job seekers jump through hoops, I feel that I at least deserved a response to my email. If I didn't get the job tell me, and let me know what I could do better for the next interview.

I have a phone interview today with CNN internship. I want the position. I also have an interview in person, tommorrow at Time, Inc. for an internship. If I'm offered the internship today, I'm going to take it - question is: what do I do about my interview scheduled for tomorrow? I don't want that position if I get this one....should I call and cancel? email and cancel? go anyway? If I go anyway and they offer it to me - what should I say (knowing I don't want it anymore). Help!

Is it acceptable to NOT include qualifications on a CV? Would it be acceptable to instead just put that you were "working at X University" during that period of time, instead?

I mean SERIOUSLY considering it, not just having a daydream that will never be acted upon. I mean with a timetable, gameplan
for transition to new job, or new job already a sure thing, and all that.
Personally, I'm quitting in 2 months, and not a soul has a clue here.
It's getting old for me, and the 60-hour-weeks are crazy. I'm
using it as an opportunity to move to a much more dynamic city in the sunbelt, and as far away from the midwest as I can get.
So, how about you folks? Finally had enough with your boss, feel
underappreciated and/or underpaid, had enough of people dumping on you, or poor pay?
I'm giving up a fairly decent paycheck, and don't care.
Enough is enough. SOmetimes its best to just quit, and have enough faith in yourself to succeed and thrive somewhere else.
Change is usually good, but we have to have the guts to leave.
Most people don't, and stay in dumped-on type jobs for years.
I hope you are not one of those people!
