I'm an unpublished writer and feel just as confused as you seem to be. Sorry.

I'm also interested in Children's education writing as well as Children's fiction and writing for screen.

You could try entering your works in competitions. That would get you noticed by publishers if you're good. Have you tried London Writers Competition?

And yes, it's hard work. Writing requires discipline and trying to get your works published requires courage. Good luck.

Writing is an occupation and you need to learn everything you can about the business. Writing, publishing, marketing and eventually I would consider an agent. Get books on writing and publishing at the library.Good luck.

I have not been published except for my technical works. I love "Writer's Market"... You can usually find copies at the library, but the latest year's edition you need to buy. all sorts of great tips, and places to sell and addresses and how to format everything.

If you go to the "Society & Culture" section, you will seen that the top answerer is a lady called "Sinthyia". I've read some of her advise to aspiring writers & she is a writer. Just click on her. (She also has a blog.) I hope this helps & good luck.

Have you thought of journalism as a career? I have been quite recently.

I think that Preston Whitmore and Samuel L Jackson are very good writer's. Writing is not one of my choices although I may be good at it. I think books change because things change.
