I have worked as a Teacher for 12 years, and moved interstate recently, and for the last 18 months I have been stuck in a child care centre as the Assistant Director....the pay is total rubbish (I am now getting $8 an hour less than I used to) the hours are long, bugger all benefits.... and I know I can do better!
In saying that.... yesterday I handed in my resignation.... and in 2 weeks I am starting a new career with a sales and marketing firm.... so I will soon find out if the grass is greener on the other side, won't I?!

I'm a work study student at the college I'm going to, $7 an hour 20 hours a week in the library and I don't have a damn thing to do. I study and play on myspace. I love my job! It's great, sometimes I actually feel guilty like I'm ripping the school off. LOL

I work from home and have been for almost two years. I wish I made more money but I have a 19 month old daughter and I am happy I can be there for her. My mother-in-law has her own company that I work for and she treats me great. I know I can do better and make more money but I don't think I would be happy because I wouldn't be able to be with my daughter. I have a college degree and almost 9 years of executive administrative and medical transcription experience.

I love my job. The pay is ok, but there are so many benefits. I work for a family owned business. And even though I'm not family, they treat me like family. Any time I need off to take care of family or my child, they give it to me-no questions asked. They allow me to leave to pick my son up from school everyday and bring him back to work with me. They are great to me. It makes me work 1000 times harder.

After spending five grueling months in on-the-job training as an AS400 Computer Operator, I now enjoy my job. I've actually turned it into a "science" because I'm so good at it, now!
