I was. I never did, but I know
there are people who do, and
without a second thought.
They are even proud of it.
They are mostly low IQ people,
who are lifers in the restaurant
kitchen business, or really
semi-retarded teens, but they
are there and they do it.
And don't worry, they
NEVER wash their hands,
either! Their mom didn't
teach them when they
were little, and they don't
even know to do it when
they read the "rules."

Although i am a manager at a fast food place, we do not and will not encourage any type of this behavior from any of our employees. I will tell you that this is a character trait. Assess the restaurants environment and mend with the crew as a regular customer. Mom and pop stores are not known to do this unless you are unfamiliar to them and you are rude. Being rude to anyone is not good because it is just food for God sakes.
More than anything now, food is becoming a service more so than just a food establishment.
