I have a good cover letter but I need to update it for work at home position and for jobs that are possibly opening up but aren't open yet. Any ideas? Thanks

With the number of applications employers go through they really have no time to read cover letters, they just have a quick look at all the resumes. However I think you should still put effort into your cover letter, you never know.

vault.com and type in search bar sample coverletter or go by industries listed.

If you heard about the job through someone that works there, then say,

"I was advised/referred by so and so to apply for this position, I've achieved...qualification...and thought I would be a good fit for ________." (of course, be more formal and polite)

for the rest you could use what you have on paper already.

Good luck~
