Unless you are really good at what you apply for I don't see why they would take a chance.
There are a lot of people looking for a job that never went to prison.
You're better off starting your own business.

my boyfriend is also an ex-convict of 12 years ago and still paying the price of a good job. Until he got in the apprenticeship program thur his union. He has about 1 1/2 years to go to be a commercial plumber. He also tried to get a goverment job they didn't hire him either. Your best bet is to go back to school, or trade school some place you can get something behind your name. Being in prison and serving you time means nothing out in the real world. You pay forever.

Maybe you can steal from businesses to make a living. I would do that if I felt I had nothing else to live for. There is no shame in being bad to the core, because sometimes the world is out to get you and make you suffer.

yeah, if I was risking my business on a person with no criminal history vs someone who robbed/assaulted/forged checks/etc......my money would be on the person with no criminal history.
No question, convicted felons have a tough road to travel. However, they kind of bring it on themselves.

You have to start from scratch. I know lots of guy in this type of situation. Go to court and try to reduce your Felony. Felony in a record is bad to a employer.
