I just got an interview with Macy's East entry position as a Financial Analyst in NYC. It's my first formal interview, so, I was wondering what I should bring with me. Purse (medium sized black), binder, pen, etc....I don't own a breifcase. I'm wearing a grey pencil-skirt suit with a white dress shirt, are black shoes ok? Thank in advance~
If any of you have had a similar job, what do interviewers look for? What questions do they typically ask?

Black shoes, small purse. No jewelry, min. make up and perfect hair. No nail polish, short nails please. If you're nails are too long they'll think you're going to have problems typing. You want to look smart and efficient, not a bimbo...
They will ask you about your experience. I assume you just graduated. Tell them about the hypothetical analysis you've done in college. Tell them about your computer skills ( I assume you are VERY proficient in Excel and Hyperion). Tell them you are able to build pivot tables, that you are great linking data with V-Look up etc.
As a financial analyst you will support a director with their financial reports and presenting them. Tel them how comfortable you are in making presentations if necessary (being a power point expert would get you extra points).
Also, as an FA you will be responsible for certain projects that you will own. Meaning all the numbers will be your responsibility. Tell them you are not afraid of a challenge ,that you love to work as a team and that your mathematical skills are excellent.
Be prepared for questions such as: where do you see yourself in five years and why are you applying for this job.
Other than that, be confident!
Good luck.

The suit sounds good, professional not too flashy. You need to carry a portfolio, so you have somewheres to hold keep the copies of your resumes. Yes, you need to bring a pen, and have your questions written out for the interviewer.
The interviewers are looking for a confident skilled indivdual that can communicate their thoughts well. Be prepared to answer stuff like why do you want to work for Macy's, and questions about your background. They will ask you to elaborate about things on your resume.

Yep I study it and that i think of that MJ is fairly right down to earth and a classic guy or woman! They way he talked to the interviewer gave me the sensation that Michael is a staggering, effective and clever guy or woman...nicely i don't mean that i did not think of so approximately him I in simple terms i prefer to declare that he rather is a staggering, effective and clever! i won't be able to have faith how ppl communicate all that crap approximately him..it fairly is the 1st time i've got study an interview of his and that i'm shocked with the help of sth he mentioned. He mentioned whilst he became youthful he does not swear and he became very shy!lol isn't he candy?and how he stated the thank you to jot down and compose music rather confirmed that he's a perfectionist and an expert! He became speaking approximately music with such hobby and that i might desire to sense it u understand?I felt and understood what he meant!Michael is the terrific adult males and u realize it (THIS is going TO each and all of the HATERS)!

The word “interview” itself makes a person tense and nervous who needs to appear in the interview. It is normal human behaviour to become confused or get tensed but such things can be overcome with practice, learning from seniors and elders, thru own experience. At my time internet was not available. These days Internet is a rich source of information. U can learn many things about the interview by visiting the websites the links of which are given below. On some websites u will find questions also along with answers which are frequently asked and questions pertaining to ur requirement can also be found there provided u surf on them thoroughly and consciously. It will improve ur performance remarkably. If will infuse a high level of confidence in u. It will make u more frank and it will develop diplomatic qualities in u too. Overall, I would say that it will give an impetus to ur personality development. Ur specific requirement can also be met on these sites provided these are surfed thoroughly and consciously.

Bring a few copies of your resume. It's better to have a portfolio with you instead of a purse. Give a firm handshake, not too limp, but not too strong you'll break the other person's hand. Be confident, at least sound confident but not arrogant. Sell yourself, accomplishments, and be honest. Good luck !

They look for people who are prepared. Do some research about Macys. Prepare your own line of questions so you come off as a thinker.
