I am currently temping in the support services department of a prestigious company. So far, my supervisor, co-worker and even a superior have all expressed appreciation in my work ethic. In general on the job, I like to find something to do even if there's nothing going on. Right now, there is "no end date in sight", but they haven't hired me. I dunno if I will get hired or not. Do I have a shot? Anyways, I work with a guy that's been there for 10 years. While he is into his work, he's stubborn, narrow-minded and at times selfish. He also threatens co-workers that he will go to the boss and that you can "tell your side of the story". I've been there for only a few months, but he's getting to be a real pain in the ***. When it's time to go home, he'll be like "Oh, you leaving early?" and have this insincere smile on his face. Truth is I can't work overtime unless I get certain permission since I'm a temp. And today he's starting to watch my every move and kind of chaperone me when.

... whole summer off. Are there any other jobs out there similar to it but that wouldn't require 4 years of college education?

I work with a woman that has been involved in 4 arguments with co-workers in the last month. I have recently had a problem with her. She has been really nasty to me and took it upon herself to chastise me loudly in front of my co-workers, when my boss was gone. she later proceded to another part of the office and complained about me to the people working there. (they came and told me) She is widely known as a trouble maker, although no one will tell her directly. I have talked to my boss before and he has always said that thats the way she is and she has had a bad life. Reguardless of the life she has outside of work I don't feel like all the rest of us should have to put up with her constant complaining and starting fights. What can I do? Some of the other people don't want to make waves because they don't want to deal with her.I also don't want her to try to balme something on me, to try to sic the dogs off her

I am in my mid-30's and considering a career change. Due to the fact that I would need to invest a fair amount of time and money to become a funeral director (while caring for a home and family), I'd like some opinions from those currently in the field.

I've never written one before. What is the basic format? And to all you employers--what are the do's and don'ts that really make a difference when you're deciding which applicants to consider?

Our company was recently taken over by some new management. As a result alot of people have either terminated their employment or have gotton fired. What was once a company of 40 is now of 8. I am one of the few and as a result, we are picking up a TON of slack. Now normally, I do not mind taking on more tasks and am currently doing so dispite an Internship and College Courses. Problem is my boss does not communicate effectively with me. She will assign me to re-do our Customer Databases with little or no direction (because she has never done it). I do my best and send it to her, not to hear back for 4-5 days later.. and when I do it's "Could you please send me the database listing?" HELLO!!!! I just sent it!!!! I don't want her to think I am neglecting my duties but am becoming increasingly frustrated. To be honest, I had difficuly establishing this database because my personal computer (they do not provide me with one) is low on memory from previous reports.

Please HELP.

I am looking around for my aunt. She doesn't live in the same state and has a problem getting out and being able to perform tasks at work like heavy lifting, standing for multiple hours. I am wondering if there is any real work from home jobs with very low start up fees or free to start? She doesn't have access to on line so it would have to be something though the the mail or telemarketing. Anyone know anybody who's real and hiring for this sort of thing?

Thanks in advance.

I have a BS and an art minor. I had a gallery show ages ago, and I've done murals for a couple of years, but am looking for an actual job in something artistic, gallery or museum maybe.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks!

Ie expecting people to be happy working for money that would not cover their rent.

Be wanting to work for such wages in a job using 2% of their brain for life.

Expect young people to to want to go out clubbing, on the pull etc.

Expect people not to fall in love at work.

Thinking a haircut determines ability to do a good job.

Having the attiude that someone is only enemplyed as lasy and not as nobody will give you a job as nobody gave you one.

Thinking that people who have an attiude against employers as treated bad wont loose it as soon as you treat them right...

Think all other emplyers are persfect and any applicant who says they were jerks has an attiude problem instead of honest. And have the brains to realise that if they treat tehm well they will sing their praises instead.

Say they want team work then get upset when people describe team work based on helping each other out not being a drone.

Wanting the cv in date not brainy/relavant job order etc

Image is nothing its skills and ability that counts...

If Im bleeding to death I dont care what the guys hair cut is as long as he stops the bleeding.

Likewise you don't type with your head.

Not talking about unwashed hair but say green, red, spikey, bits in it etc...

As surely those indicate more of a care for appearance as more effort.

An quality attiude of seeking out the best products.

Creative problem solving origonal thinking, ie smarter.

Not a herd follower but more honest.

Often part of decent youth cultures more into the music then drink so less hangovers.

Oh and as for little old ladies/customers whilst working in a shop I got most compliments from them.

Oh and would I trust a doctor with mad hair... er yeah...

Likewise shop stuff... PC world Vs CEX (computer exchange, small scruffy, metal floor, rock punk kids .... who were experts and knew their stuff with better deals ie oem software as opposed to boxed. Vs dumb suit shop staff

Why are employers so obsessed with experience for dumb jobs like shop assisting? fast food etc?

Jobs you could pick up in a day or so.

Or experience in general
