I just graduated from college and want to try investing some of my salary in the stock market. I'm going to start small, like $2000. I'm leaning toward IT stocks b/c my friend earns a lot from Apple (APPL) stock. Any advice on which stock to pick?

I sold a home and the title company did not pay off the existing balance of that loan (which they should have); they gave it to me. I am paying the mortgage as agreed, however my initial contract states that I have to inform the bank if I sell it. I did not do that (the title company should have), but as I said, I am still making the payments on a home that I do not own. So, the collateral based upon the loan no longer exists and in essence I am just paying a loan that has no collateral.

I suppose if the bank found out I sold the home and took the proceeds that they could sue me. But there is no "credit jail", so as long as I continue to make payments, can they do anything to me?

I have a potential customer here who would like to order from me. This person sent me an email listing what he wanted and said that he wanted it for 300. The weird thing about this is that the way he wants to do this is to send a money order with his shipping fee included but then we have to send the shipping fee western unioun to his shipper and then his shipper comes and picks up the product. Has anybody ever dealt with something like this? Seems like a scam because if you used UPS or USPS you wouldnt need to western union anything and if you used a small shipping co they would invoice the buyer instead of western union'ing anything.

I just started working at a new school in a new area my husband and I moved to. I've been teaching there since September and the environment is awful and the administration is abusive. It's starting to affect my life in all areas and making me unhappy. I'm scared to change jobs after just starting and doing the hunt all over again. I feel this school completely misrepresented the job... everyone there is miserable. Suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

My dad is Half deaf
He has been jobless for 6 years or so now. We're really struggling to survive. Just recently he tried getting a government job as a security officer for a juvenile center. They made him go through months of testing and backround checks(almost 8 months) and then finally they ask him to take a hearing test, and he ends up failing so after all that.. They tell him he can't get a job.

Now my question to you guys is. Is there any way he can get disability checks? Or maybe be able to get a job because he is Half deaf?
I really don't know what to do.
He can hear fine enough to do his job but he can't get hired for anything. Even a minimum wage job.
Any advice would be great.

Well they closed the program I work in and my hours are 12 to 8 and my sitter already gives me a hard time because she puts her kids to sleep around 8 and it excites them when we leave. They offered me another position in another program from 4 to 12 but that won't work because my sitter won't go for me picking him up that late at all. I also go to school on the internet at night. I could do it earlier but it is better at night while my son is sleeping. He is 5 and he needs watching constantly when he is awake. But I wonder considering that this program closed would I be able to file for unemployment while I search for a new job? I am a single mom barely making ends meet. I know I won't be out of work for long because I will make a full time job of looking for one, but I know how the job market is and it may be a few weeks.

My Dad passed away in July of this year. He left his estate to me, including his home. Everything was left to me in a Revocable Trust. I was about to put the house in my name when I got a letter from my brother, along with a deed, showing that my parents left the house to HIM at an earlier time. That deed was dated July 2004 and was drawn up 2 weeks before my Mom died. My Dad disinherited my brother in the trust because after my mom passed, my brother deserted my dad. Therefore, my dad wanted me to have the house to live in because he was so hurt by my brother and knew that I needed a home. To make a long story short my deed is a Quitclaim Deed and the one that my brother has is a GRANT Deed. I was told that the Grant Deed supercedes the Quitclaim. The Grant Deed states that the property passes to my brother upon the death of the last parent.Even though he was disinherited can he force me from my HOME?? I plan to see a lawyer tomorrow, but I'm dying for an answer NOW.PLEASE HELP

I would like to find a site that will show me (roughly) what I would owe in taxes this year as a single man vs. what I would owe (roughly) if I got married this year.

Anyone know where I can do that?

I know it is never a good idea but we have hit an all time low. There have been some horrible issues that have happened to us and our family and this is looking like our only option.
We had a son born very prematurely and the hospital bills are CRAZY (that was 2 years ago, we paid them down but they are still crazy) my husband health insurance was and is GARBAGE!
Then we bought a house while we were selling our old house and the buyer at the end fell through so we had 2 house payments for 1-1/2 years.
Then we had our second child which was an emergency c-section and he was hospitalized for 3 weeks because he was breeched and footing and his leg was injured.
And just a million other little things happened.
Is there any other way out????

I've had a part time job now for 11 Months. But I got a second full time job last week that I enjoy better. I want to quit the part time job. Will it hurt my FICO score when I quit my part time job that I've had for almost a year? Does it matter who employs me so long as I'm employed through the eyes of the Credit Bureaus?

Or would it help if I held onto the part time job for at least 1 full year then quit the job?

I have a b/f who has no money saved up, however i do have about 5k because my dad makes me pay no bills but I have my own, like car & credit cards etc. My dad is real deprssed because of our family members dyeing, so i dont want to move out nor do I think I will make it on my own. I have high school education. Will I ever be happy? It seems like i will only be happy if i win the lottery!

I have a 1st mortgage of $125K. I have an equity line ran up to $50K. First is on a fixed 6.75% 30 year. Equity line is on a variable rate can't recall what it is at the moment. We want to combine the two loans into one 15 year loan. Is this feasible or reasonable to do? I saw at bankrate.com that one lender was giving 15 year fixed at 4.5%. Can you get a 10 year fixed? Or even a 5 year fixed? I "might" consider the 10 but didn't find any rate quotes on a 10 year fixed and not sure if the rate is much better than the 15 year fixed. Can someone tell me the best route to go with this? I'm not too knowledgeable about refinancing and am trying to learn what I should look out for yada, yada, yada. All help greatly appreciated!! thanks, Ken
