I have a potential customer here who would like to order from me. This person sent me an email listing what he wanted and said that he wanted it for 300. The weird thing about this is that the way he wants to do this is to send a money order with his shipping fee included but then we have to send the shipping fee western unioun to his shipper and then his shipper comes and picks up the product. Has anybody ever dealt with something like this? Seems like a scam because if you used UPS or USPS you wouldnt need to western union anything and if you used a small shipping co they would invoice the buyer instead of western union'ing anything.

Yes, that's a classic scam. Ask yourself why he couldn't send the shipping fee directly to this shipper?

This sounds a little strange, however, as long as he includes the cost of wiring the shipper which is really no big deal. The big deal is that before you do anything you have your bank verify that the money order is genuine. The "shipper" could be your customer attempting to scam you.

Yes, it's a very common scam right now. You wire the money to his "shipper", then the money order turns out to be forged and you end up out the money you wired.

Scam don't do it. It takes 30 days for a money order to clear. The cash looks like it clears immediately however the bank can not clear international checks for 30days. Had a friend loose 5k this way

This is a scam! Don't fall for it. If you have any doubts, call the bank when the money order arrives to verify it. Don't send them money!
