I have received an email from peddysmithgains@yahoo.com offering to buy some puppies I am selling but I think it is a scam. Does anyone know about a scam that sends you a cashier check that you are told to cash and pay the shipping company for their costs and sending the item they are purchasing and keeping the difference?

I was interviewed by 3 persons.
The interview went okay, there were some questions that I handled quite well, yet there were some I kinda messed it.

Overall, I think the interviewer liked me as a person. They felt comfortable talking to me and I could feel there was a connections.
However, as I'm applying for a sales consultant position, I am not familirzed with the products yet but there will be a training provided if i were hired.
About whether they think I'm suitable for this job, I have no idea.

The next few hours, I received a call from HR and she told me that I have been short-listed to that position and asked me to fax over whatever documents regarding my previous job.

So, what does short-listed mean? I know what it means but I want to know more. Is there anyone can give me any advice or idea of what you think my chances are?

My boyfriend and I and another couple (Our friends) put a deposit down on a condo for a vacation. A lady I worked with owns the condo. I quit my job because of some things that went on... and now she won't give me my money back! I called her and she told me she was sending my check in the mail... and I still haven't gotten it. I called her and she won't respond to my calls. She gave the other couple their money... but not mine!! I don't know what to do?!? Help!

I am refinancing my home. All my paper work is done and ready for the title company. I have not locked on a rate yet. The feds have their meeting on the 31st of October and it is expected to drop interest rates. Can I lock my loan the day of closing? Which I would like to close on the 31st.

My friend is leasing a space in a plaza for $2400 a month. When he signed the lease, the owner wanted $15000 deposit. It this ligitimate legally? Is there some rule to go by? such as in renting an apartment, they cannot charge more than 2X the rent. In this case it is a business being bought that is on this plaza.

i have tricholtillomania (i pull out my own hair) and i need a job really bad but i have bald patches all over my head so i have to wear a bandana.

I live in Illinois and I lived in a house for 3 years. Paid my rent on time and got along with the landlord just fine for 2 years and then for some reason he started acting strange. Out of the three years, I only had a year lease and never had to sign another one. Keep the house spotless. Then one day he came over and wanted to up my rent and wanted me to sign another lease. I told him no and that I would be moving out in 30 days. I moved out and he never would give me my deposit back. So how do you get a deposit back from a landlord? I did not damage anything.

My husband and I both graduated college, and are currently over $10,000 in debt. I am so depressed because I dont know how two people with full time jobs are so poor. It just seems like we can never get ahead. I keep calling VISA (which I maxed out yesterday) to try to get them to lower my interest rate, so I can get a bit of a break and pay a little more off (like Oprah said they will do if you call) but all I get is middle easterners who say no.

What exactly do the Credit Consolidators do? Is it worth what they charge? What do they require. I am starting to make sacrifices because I am SERIOUS about paying this debt off. Its just so depressing I feel like its never going to happen. I want to pay it off, and get rid of Credit cards for good, and save for my future children and what not.
Any ideas on what to do?

I was in an accident about 3 weeks ago...I was rear-ended. My claims adjuster told me last Wednesday that I would be receiving a $500 check in the mail from the other guy's company to cover the deductible I owe the body shop. It's been over a week since my adjuster told me that and still no check. I'm a single mother who's struggling to make it and I haven't been able to pay the $500 deductible to get my car back, which means i've been struggling to find ways to get to my job. Does anyone know about how long it takes to receive a check like that? I really need my car back!

i got a job in mcdonalds and i went to this job orientation last friday..

during the orientation, the manager said that the assistant manager( another person) would start making phone calls from wed to friday to let us know the training schedule and everthing..

but she didnt call yesteryday i thought it was fine,

but today i called back to check and the other lady told me that the assistant manager wont be here till saturday...

ahhh... im really worried!
i know i should stay more positive becuz they hired 8 ppl this time...but still...

guys do you think there would be any problems??

I am 23 years old and I plan on getting married next year. The only problem is, I'm terrified!!! Here's why: By the time I get married I should have $40,000 saved up, plus a $10,000 car. I figure that by the time I pay for a down payment on a house though, my money will pretty much all be gone. I'll be left with about $20,000 and will have a RN job that'll pretty much pay all the bills, but I wont have much left for savings. How will I be able to make extra money. I think it might be better for me to just stay with my folks for 3 more years and save enough money and THEN move out. What should I do.. I need some good advice!
