I was interviewed by 3 persons.
The interview went okay, there were some questions that I handled quite well, yet there were some I kinda messed it.

Overall, I think the interviewer liked me as a person. They felt comfortable talking to me and I could feel there was a connections.
However, as I'm applying for a sales consultant position, I am not familirzed with the products yet but there will be a training provided if i were hired.
About whether they think I'm suitable for this job, I have no idea.

The next few hours, I received a call from HR and she told me that I have been short-listed to that position and asked me to fax over whatever documents regarding my previous job.

So, what does short-listed mean? I know what it means but I want to know more. Is there anyone can give me any advice or idea of what you think my chances are?

thank you.

As is mentioned above, short listed is a good thing. It means they had a larger pool of candidates and now have brought it down to a couple of people who can do the job. It means you have a very good chance at getting the job. The key now is to sell yourself. You want to be confident, energetic and positive in the next interview and really sell yourself -- if you can't sell yourself, how can you sell anything else?? I would use common sales skills, such as finding out what the final selection criteria is and then focusing your answers toward this question, then following up with the hiring manager with a thank you note and a call. Polite persistence is an important skill in sales. Good luck!

Short list means that they have narrowed it down to a few candidates. I interview for sales people quite often. They know you probably have little knowledge of their product. What you need to do now is sell yourself. Emphasize your strengths and let them know what you can do and bring to their company. Don't talk negative about yourself. Dress sharp and arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. Good luck.

Short listed is good - it means they've narrowed down the candidates a lot, and you're still in the running. They are probably down to two or three candidates. No way to know what the other person or people's qualifications are, so hard to tell what your odds are, but good luck.

Sales is the easiest job to get, especially if you can do the job.
It's moreso about whether you think you are suitable for this job and your ability to impress that upon them. It's sales, after all!

You'll have hope if you believe in hope and yourself!
