I've been a project manager for a commercial construction company and I have unique skills for odd jobs.
I was just told due to economic slow down I will probably be laid off
What should I expect ?

When i search around Yahoo Answers, i see people mentioning "CPA" i am wondering what that is. Also, what is the difference between an accountant working for a company, such as the bank, and a public accountant.

Just from the balance sheet, like the depreciation expense amounts. I also know they use straight line. And some estimated lives (ranges), but not sure if I have to completely compute it from scratch or if there's some formula or what?

Hi, I am very interested in becoming a Property Developer but I have no equity or assets to finance this nor my day job is able to finance it neither. I believe that I have a viable idea (do not wish to disclose my ideas as I had too many local people with money profiting and becoming wealthy off my idea's) that will be a bit different from normal property development which will make me a tidy profit. I am a well educated man (thus why many people with money had profited off my ideas listening into my conversations in the local pub) so I am very due diligent but unfortunately there are no jobs locally suited to my qualifications nor any jobs within 100 miles where I live to go to. I can't even afford to relocate. So therefore going into Property Development part-time will given some capital to finance my relocation to a better job and better way of life. What finance options are there to do this? I am interested in a short term loan (say 2 months) which is interest only and then when I sell the property pay off the loan and the interest rolled-up and also give me some profit. Help!

just calculated everything and i am 13thousand in debt and can't pay it off right away. my wife was diagnosted with degenerative disk disease and had to quit her job and she has been bed ridden for the past month and a half. the doctor hasn't decided if he wants to do surgery for disk replacement yet and she is in constant pain 24, 7. can a credit card company garnish your wages if you or your spouse is on disablity? god this is depressing!!!

there is a few accounts on her report that were not made by her. The problem is they were made by someone she knows and doesnt want to get them in trouble. Is there a way she can lock her social security number without a report against this person. Thanks

I work on a complex mission critical IT system which my employer has started to outsource to an Indian company. Currently we are training an Indian team to take over our jobs which includes programming, design, database design & 24/7 helpdesk. My impression of the new staff is not favourable as they do not seem to have the necessary skills, knowledge or background and must complete handover of knowledge in 3 months. MY company is driving this through to make cost savings but my concern is that this could lead to a serious service failure in the future and lower quality support. Indeed this is compounded because the current UK staff are likley to leave so the company cannot go back. Would be interested to hear other peoples opinions or experiences.

i made payment arrangements with a creditor 100/month do they have to update my credit report each month or can they wait until it is paid in full to update my credit report. I plan on requesting a letter stating the debt has been paid off when I make my last payment. In the meantime will they update my payment with ea. payment i make or not???

The agency that had the loan started garnishing my wages in 2004 despite the fact I informed them it wasn't my signature on the loan. I filed an affadavit of forgery, sent them copies of my signatures and filed a police report. The police indicated they would not arrest because it happened in 1992 and I filed a report in 2006. What are my options and I am legally held to this loan. The loan is a student college loan for her daughter, my step daughter.

I was hit a few months ago by an under-insured mortorist. His (mom's) policy was only worth $25,000.00, barely enough to cover my emergency care bills. Not to mention all my orthopedic follow-ups and physical therapy. My medical insurance does not cover injuries incurred by a third party. My lawyer has checked all options for extra coverage, and says the next step would be to file a law suit against the other driver. He was clearly at fault (ran a red light, caught on camera), but I don't think guy has any money. The lawyer said the guy could just file bankruptcy to avoid paying anything. How does it work if you sue someone, and they have no money to pay?

My ex used a credit card i didn't know we had after we were separated. 4 years later i am finding out he is in about $20,000.00 in debt. How can i find out from the info i have from the collection agency, who the debt is with and exactly what he paid for with the credit card? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to contact the collection agency directly so they don't start coming after me.

I am 14 and i find the dream (having a nice high office in a very well known and rich company wearing a crisp suit everyday with and espresso and a suitcase driving to work in a white lambo)a very good dream to have and a good life to have as well...

well in school a few days ago we was learning about stocks and merchanting and stuff and my dad say i am a freshman taking 11 &12 grade math that it would not be so hard to get a job and a life like that(excluding the lambo 8 3)

he said i would need to go to collage and major in business and stuff like that but i want to get ahead of the game and start learning about it now...

so please tell me all you know about business and what i would need to know to make my dream come true?

I would like to start my own craft business to make some extra income at home. I do cross stitching and latch hook. I was thinking of setting up a website advertising and including pics of projects I've done already. The business would pretty much be taking orders, but need some advice on how to get it started. How do I get the website set up? What is the charge? Any free places to do it? How about advertising on it? Do I pay for that? Any help would be great. Thanks!
