Good Afternoon,
I have invented and filed a patent for a product for the garmet industry. My intention is for it to be sold in boutique and department stores. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding the required steps inbetween the patent and sales. Do I need to officially and legally be a business to sell my product to or through established stores?
Thank you!

And if not, what am I required to do with sales tax, etc?

You don't need to be, but why wouldn't you want to be?
"Officially and legally a business" is the best and most secure way to sell you products and protect yourself. You should contact a lawyer.
