Sounds bad. Once bankruptcy comes into play there may be very little you can do. There are a variety of bankruptcy titles some may entitle you to your money but this will certainly be a long and tiresome road. You may need to keep on top of your lawyer. GL

You are in a heap of trouble. I hope the money was in escrow. I hope it was only a deposit. If you have a construction loan you are in a world of hurt. It will take months to sort out ownership, etc., while you are racking up interest on your loan or paying for house you don't yet own.

You need a good lawyer and you need it ASAP.

How much of your $ is at risk?

good luck!

talk with a new lawyer. Your deposit should be in an escrow account, so that my save it.

read your contract. don't do anything via email. use certified mail.
