Actually Royal Bank of Scotland is Citizens Bank in the US. Charter One is the mid-west division of Citizens Bank.

HSBC also operates in both countries.

However, unlike in the UK, most banks in the US don't have nationwide coverage. Most cover a maximum of only a dozen or two dozen states.
