As much as I hate to say this "Higher gas prices are here to stay" and during the next wave of bad weather, rather it being in the form of a hurricane or a prolonged cold wave, the price of crude oil will go up bringing gas prices up with it. These price hikes takes place every time the nation is hit by bad weather.

The economy will take the very same hit that it took back in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina came ashore. The prices of everything will go through the roof. Tourist industry will take the biggest hit because everyone will be staying home because of higher gas prices.

Hopefully, alternative sources of fuel can be utilized before any of these series of events take place again.

Don't think that will happen, personally. Stock market rises on higher oil prices historically. Most likely we will see a slow growth economy in short term, possible letdown but not major. Very difficult market to guage at this time.

Oil prices along with interest rates, the market, etc. are all manipulated by the morbidly obese psychopaths who own the planet. They find it amusing to screw over the mere peasants, as well as to make even more money for themselves through insider deals so as to fill their bloated egos and bank accounts.

These are hollow, shallow people with the emotional age of 6 but higher than average IQs. One day they'll get what they deserve.
