I have been told that they legally they must accept an offer of regular payment no matter how small. Is this true or can they reject my offer and start collections or judgement proceedings? What are my real rights and options?

I recently took a supervisor position in which I was offered $30/hr. I was not told until after I started that it would be a salaried position and given a letter to sign ( I have yet to sign it ) that stated my income would be 62, 400/hr. I do have to clock in and out like everyone else and today was told it was expected it work 45 hours a week! This works out to just over $26/hr according to my calculation. I hate to cause problems this early in the game (I'm on my second week!!) but I feel I've been completely mislead and being taken advantage of. The original amount made sense with a 40 work week but I wouldn't have taken the job had I known it would be a salaried position in the first place. What's my question? Do I make sense here? Do I have the math right???

Can you go to jail for two years ago claiming someone elses kid on your taxes and you don't remember their name and now that person is being asked did you claim anyone for that year. The kid's aunt wanted my friend to claim the kid on his taxes and give her the money. Now he is screwed cuz he can't remember the kids name it was in another state and if it shows up that he did claim this kid on his taxes and he is saying he didn't wow would that be fraud?

I'm thinking of going to law school. My undergrad is in accounting and I really enjoy accounting and taxation. I'm working at a larger law firm now, but am unsure of the enviroment due to all the egos. Also, everyone keeps advising against law school. I do not come from a professional family and would be doing this without many personal connections. HELP

I'm looking for work and also use the computer to job search. Is it just me, or have the job ads been disappearing? There are hardly any new ones. And now when a lot of people are going back to school and leaving jobs there should be more. Is the stock market crisis to blame?

Is it better to go through a Credit Union or a Regular Bank for a auto loan? The APR is the same and the monthly payment would be the same. Does your credit score benefit more from the regual bank?

So, I cheated on this exam today. I got away with it, and what a rewarding feeling! I can run a few more laps and enjoy a well deserved brewskie!
Are there any legal consequences beyond being expelled in for cheating on exams in Uni?
Ahhh, the rewards. I feel for the poor suckers who actually studied, whilst I was enjoying vintage wine and beer and actually enjoying LIFE, whilst the suckers had their noggin in some stupid book...

I work in a retail clothing store and I absolutley love my job! There are, however a few drawbacks, mostly being the handfull of customers that come in and want to screw me over with the "I'm the customer, I'm always right." It's not true! For example, I had a customer completley destroy a skirt and wanted to return it for the full price she had paid for it. I couldn't return it at all because it had been altered, but she swore up and down that she "bought it that way". I know it was total crap because the same skirt, unaltered was directly to my left. She was mad and threatened to call my home office to report me. Our district manager even told us to not give her money back for it! So, why do people think this way? I firmly believe in superior customer service, but this is getting absolutley ridiculous.

I have a one year rental agreement that states that I am to make monthly payments of $XXXX amount, but it doesn't say anything about what day of the month each payment is due by. For instance, I made the monthly payment for August before the first of August. What I'm wondering is if I have to make the payment before the first, or the second. If there is no time stated for when a payment is considered late, can I make the September payment at any time during September without being in breach of the contract.

Hello,
My father owns a home in Nevada(second) and another home in California(primary). The home in California is going into Foreclosure. My question is my father would like to know if he files for a bankruptcy and includes all his credit card debt which is aprx. $25k, will the bankrupcty court or judge make him take out equity/or sell his other home that is in Nevada to pay off the debts? I know the laws have changed and would appreciate any help on this.
Thank you all in advance,
Rudy

I am in the same situation as many people I make enough money but still somehow have none let over for cushioning

Auto-$442
Insurance- $127
Rent-$733
Cell-$60
Cable-$35
Home Phone-Basic Service-$10
Gas-$40 week
PGE (Gas and Electric)-$20
Credit card (consolidation program)- $256

I make $1200 a paycheck (two times a month) and am still constantly overdrawing my account to pay my expenses causing my next check to be 1200-the overdrawn amount.

Any suggestions are welcomed

-I would also like to add that I discontinued cable
-My car insurance is with AAA and is higher than normal because of an no-fault accident in 2005
-Although my car payment is high it's because at the time I had bad credit (score of 599)-I am not sure if I can refinance

From what you know where can I save

I am desperate to move out of this job, working in a bank where I'm exploited, I have a bachelor's degree but can't seem to move past the assistant position. I want to quit because I hate coming here everyday...I feel miserable. I want to move into nursing, but don't know how. Does it make sense to work in a hospital as an admin/clerical position untill I become a nurse? Is that crazy? Please help. I can't take one more day here.

I have an account on my cred. report. Last date of activity was October 2002. It is listed under the collections area of my report - and it is listed as a 'current delinquency'. I get a phone call from the creditor about twice a year, and a letter once a year. This all happened after a bout of unemployment.

I was told that my creditor can keep it on my report indefinitely. Then someone else told me that it must 'fall-off' 7 years after the LDoA.

Whose right? My question also is: what is the average time a collections agency will use to take you to court for amounts owed in the hopes of getting a judgement against you (it has been at the same agency for almost 1 year and a half)? Monies owed total is almost $7k, through research I have found that this particular company pay about 8-10 cents on the dollar...(if that makes a difference).

I would rather give my money to a charity...but that won't help my credit score. Will paying off this debt help?
